Nvidia 3000 Series Tonight
Discussion
Scan's open shop this weekend has (they say) 700+ RTX 30xx cards for sale.
"on Saturday, September 11, Scan Computers is holding a Summer BBQ at its headquarters in Horwich, Bolton. The firm says it has 'secured stock of over 700 graphics cards of various models and is the first time that RTX 30-series cards have been available in an in-store format starting at MSRP. Scan has devised a purchasing system whereby customers will be able to transact on the day on their own mobile device as well as at the regular tills to help reduce in-store congestion. Scan has also worked with a number of other partners to put together further exclusive offers on the day.'"

Does it actually say "700+ RTX 30x0 GPUs" or "just "700+ GPUs, and some will be RTX30x0"?"on Saturday, September 11, Scan Computers is holding a Summer BBQ at its headquarters in Horwich, Bolton. Could be, but other than Radeon 6000 series what else is available new, even 1650s are in short supply and if most of the cards for sale today are GT710s they'll be a riot.
I hope there's a live stream of the riot then Or maybe they'll only be available in a bundle with puncture-ridden inflatables, underpowered-PSUs, single-colour RGB e-waste, and A320M motherboards?
Here you go, the list of all available GPUs and prices at the Scan open day - https://www.scan.co.uk/scanevent21
All 30xx series cards.
They opened at 10am so all gone by now I guess.

They don't look all that much cheaper to be honest, maybe save £200 if you are lucky but that means registering, driving down there, queueing up and wasting half a day where you might not even get one anyway, or at least not the one you want. I think I'd rather spend the extra and have the one I want brought to the door. All 30xx series cards.

If they were half price on the other hand....

Countering the lack of 30xx GPUs with a re-release of the RTX 2060 with 12GB of VRAM - https://www.eteknix.com/nvidia-to-refresh-2060-gpu...

This is insane, do we think the 40xx GPUs might be released before they can even produce enough 30XX GPUs?They seem to release a new version every two years which implies the 40XX would be released in January 2023. Is it possible they might stretch the life of the 30XX a bit longer if the massive demand is still there?

If both GPUs need the same silicon capacity, then they may just rebrand the 30x0 cards as a step down 40x0 card and add DLSS 3.0!They seem to release a new version every two years which implies the 40XX would be released in January 2023. Is it possible they might stretch the life of the 30XX a bit longer if the massive demand is still there?
So:
- a 3090 with DLSS2.0 would become a 4080 with DLSS3.0
- a 3080 with DLSS2.0 would become a 4070 with DLSS3.0
- etc.

It is amazing how much the 1080ti is going for on eBay, a card that is over four years old now?
Is it the first time in history where buying a piece of technology is actually an investment, rather than something that is worthless in a few years?
Im just about to sell mine today…. What sort of prices are you seeing??Is it the first time in history where buying a piece of technology is actually an investment, rather than something that is worthless in a few years?

So, being Intel, what dodgy Intel-specific benchmarks are they going to use to prove the SOC2 only used 75w peak?- a different definition of watt?
- a different definition of 'peak'?
- a claim that it's 75w per xe-core?
