Probably to secure purchasing one. They’re still very hard to get hold of and sell out as soon as stock is loaded onto retailers websites.

For some reason, people are desperate to buy the new consoles. Even though there are no actual next-gen new games as such to play on them.

Too much lockdown and time on their hands.

I wonder what the excess is on his household policy.

Maybe he will get a cheque for £50.00

You know what who cares what you lot think, there’s worse things going on in the world, like people haven’t and won’t continue to make claims. I’ve insured plenty items and touch wood never had to make a claim, everything from home insurance, car insurance, holiday insurance, mobile phone insurance electrical items etc etc why are people being morons about it. Most of you leaving negative comments probably don’t have kids so you will never know what it feels like to constantly have to replace broken items. If any of you have any idea how many months I’ve tried getting this console you wouldn’t be such losers about it, anyway whatever, I’ll get it replaced even if it Means buying a new one. I’ll stick to the car topic in future!!!
You know what, I do have kids. And they break stuff, and damage it and lose things.
And every time they do it I swear under my breath, chatise/sympathise as appropriate and work out whether to replace or repair or tell them they will have to go without.
What I don't do is decide to try and offload my problem on others by lying and committing fraud. Teach your kids to respect their stuff, don't teach them that cheating the system is okay

Doing some deals, you have to work hard to afford these things you know.

For some reason the OP completely deleted everything on the post as he didn’t seem to like some of the answers he got.

The USB port and wiring was damaged as well as what sounded like the chassis or structural parts and it had a game stuck inside.
That’s why its always important to quote the OP.
If anyone's remotely interested, I've just noticed that the OP's original message has been quoted in full on the "Council" thread:

What, you mean this post .... wavey

“Morning guys so my boy accidentally smashed the glass table our new ps5 was sat on, as a result the console is now took abit of a beating with a game stuck inside and the the usb cable and port which it sits in completely bent frown

Obviously Sony don’t offer any kind of warranty on accidental damage, but I’ve bought the console from Argos and I’ve just this second bought the 3 years cover which apparently covers accidents, anyone got any info on this cover, any good? Are my chances pretty slim?

Absolutely gutted, cannot beleive this all the endless nights I stayed up to get it and 3 weeks later it’s thrashed, never have I damaged any console like this ever and the one that cost me the most and I wanted the most is now in bits

Any help appreciated, many thanks “

It’s amazing how many people actually go out their ways to be awkward and make life harder for someone, just shows how sad and pathetic some people really are, truth in the matter is the people doing it are probably after one themselves lol. I won’t give you guys the satisfaction I’ll just claim on home insurance and I know if a mis hap were to occur again I’m covered under my warranty for 3 years. Happy days. If I learnt one thing in all my life is karma works in mysterious ways you help someone the Favour almost certainly is returned on the other hand if your a moron about it will happen to you in time of need. Like I said I ain’t sweating it. I’m not some geek who going to cry about my gadgets, I’ll replace it even if it means buying another. Anyone I’m done here, no point wasting my time
Reading words typed by strangers on the internet is making life harder? There is no mystery when it comes to karma. You get what you give, do naughty things and naughty things will happen in return. You are correct not crying about gadgets, you sound more of a generalised wet wipe.

I am surprised that you're surprised. I'll wager that more than a few of the 'negative' comments are from parents who do indeed not know what it feels like to constantly have to replace broken items. It's normal for kids to break stuff now and again. It's not normal to constantly be replacing broken items. I was taught to respect my own and others belongings, in turn I did the same with my kids along with them learning the concept of saying please and thank you. It is all part of parenting.

Same, agree completely, kids break stuff, it inevitable, mine are getting older now so are learning the value of things, last couple of years we've had to buy a new chromebook to replace on that was stood on, a new TV as youngest (10) chucked an iphone at it, the iphone survived unscathed, countless phone/tablet screens from drops, charging ports from yanking cables, we are keeping our local repair shop in buisness at this point,

This year they both bought phones with their Christmas money, hopefully they will have a bit more luck with keeping them safe.

Which ones?

The op wants to commit fraud, what type of reply did he, or you, expect?

Am I the only one loving a grown man getting upset how hard he had to work to buy a games console.....

Then calling everyone else a loser for not supporting his attempt at fraud. You couldn’t make it up.

Get back on the grind to replace or claim house insurance hope you let them know about your glass furnishings some don’t cover them.

Just realised it’s a low level Trump!!!!!!

It was OP getting angry at losing a game wasn’t it. Also a glass coffee table seems an odd thing to store a games console on? Like, in the middle of the room?
