How to download a 5 min "segment" from Youtube

OP, could you post a link to the YT clip please?

I have explored some of the links above however, file size is too large so currently unable. I am going to persevere though,. will try 23 next.

I've used this site.

It does takes a while, 1MB per second download (limited by the site), but i now have a copy of the YT clip
So you should be able to do this too; no video, just audio.

Actually a nice bit of EDM, so that's going on the list of tracks that play in the background

Start VLC and then Media >> Open Network Stream then Copy and Paste in the YouTube page url. The video should now start playing in VLC.

Open the Tools >> Media Information menu. At the bottom where it shows location copy all the text from the adjoining box. Paste this back into your browser where the video will now play outside of YouTube. You can right click and then download the file.

Nice, cheers all. I have managed to now get a grab although it is scruffy - start and end times were hard to sort. That was via online site - https://clideo.com/cut-audio

But I need to perfect it so will use the link above ( thanks ) and explore the others.

Grab more and then use something like Audacity to trim it.
