This may have been done already but can anyone recommend some friendly and fast DVD burning software that does it all?!

Ditto Nero - I was sceptical before using it but it's proven to be very easy/efficient to use and maintain, so no doubt about recommending it.

Another vote for Nero here.

Mac users have a choice of Roxio Toast (costs money) or FirestarterFX (doesn't). There's others, but they're the ones I've found to be best.

I use DVD Shrink to backup DVDs that are larger than 4.7 gig. DVD Shrink in turn uses Nero to do the actual burning.
