i have a business backup line between 2 offices which is currently kilostream ,
this is no longer an essential requirement as we have other connections in place now but i want to keep an emergency backup between the 2 sites so am going to replace it with a 2gb ADSL line ,
i want to create a secure VPN tunnel between the 2 sites ,
what is a good router that is capable of doing this

BT suggested a 3com box ?

Do you really want *A*DSL ... ?

Anyhow, the answer's Cisco, what was the question, again?

For a backup line, can't see why it's a problem.

Cisco is great kit, but there are lots of alternatives out there - we use a sonicwall and find it fantasically easy to use and a fraction of the cost of an equivalent cisco router/firewall.

Take a look at the Cisco PIX 500 range. We use plenty of these with no problems.

Sonicwall -

Specifically TZ 170 for a small LAN to small LAN or Pro 2040 for large office to TZ 170 to small branch. You can also get a wireless version of the 170 that will include firewalled wireless access points. I run the TZ 170 SP wireless at home and have the 2040 at the office. Works like a charm.
