Cos the internet is really flying... My PC wouldn't hook up to my wireless router when I first switched it on, so I did the usual scan and found a fresh network Well if it's there, you have to try, don't you Straight in with no password! surely not the sort of thing you want to advertise?

Illegal and dishonest maybe?

Surely the right thing is to tell said people about the dangers of unsecured networks and help them put it right?

Maybe it just me but that is what I would do

Its the right thing to do as it makes it better for everyone if the net is gradually more secure

Ooh, so I'm a criminal Woohoo

If it's unsecured then it's obviously public access

If it's not secured there shouldn't be any problem. Is it really something the criminal law should be concerning itself with?

So if you don't lock your house and someone pops in, has a look about the bedrooms and sits in your lounge.....?

So if I leave my front door open... come in and eat my food???? Your neighbour sounds like an internet newbie... someone else might decide to do his PC some harm. Surely the right thing to do is warm him/her of thre dangers and help them secure their connection. It's what I'd want my neighbour to do if it was me!!

Not a criminal offence.

If it bothers you that much, pursue a civil action, try and demonstrate the loss which you have suffered.

I ran network stumbler on the train once, picked up a few from there. I've never actually connected to one though...

Ahem as I said ^^^

Obviously a numptie before the beak.... An open network is public access.

In the last week I've broken the law in at least ten different ways, one more won't hurt

And I'll be back on my own network when I go porn surfing later

It was posted by someone else on another forum that isn't in the UK, not sure where he is though, maybe USA.
