I've agreed to rebuild a system for a mate's kids for Christmas but need a proper version of the above.

Anyone got a disc and license key then no longer need, in exchange for appropriate beer tokens?

Many thanks

Why not get your friend to purchase a student edition of win XP
Most software companies Microsoft/Adobe e.t.c offer big educational discounts.

I believe you have to get a form signed by a teacher.
Certain terms & conditions apply.

A shiny new copy of XP isn't that expensive clicky

Not sure how easy it is to transfer a copy of XP home to a totally different PC

Hi

I've overcome the immediate problem (borrowed a volume license) but would like to turn this into a properly licensed version. Therefore, I need a pukka Windows XP Professional, please?

As always, beer tokens in exchange.

Many thanks

`fraid I don't have a spare license for XP Pro. Sorry.

But ya know, if the current version thinks it's dodgy... you could phone Microsoft, take the rap on the knuckles and then... they sell you a copy of XP Pro for a heavy discount (usually), no police, knocks on the door or anything.

Use one of the utilities on-line to swap the keys over and bingo.

Makes windows believe it is official when it's not. So yes it is dodgy.

Saying Vista is out/ coming out soon XP Home or Pro should be getting cheaper.
