Freeware for converting audio files?

I've downloaded a few audio files that are a format other than mp3, which for ease I would like to convert to mp3 (from mpc, flac, and ape)

Can anyone recommend a program that can do this - preferably as a batch job?

We use a freeware prog called Switch and found it here : www.nch.com.au/switch/ but that link no longer seems to work. Google turns up this alternative location :

and I'd guess it's the same thing.

Simple to use and works well in my experience.

Not sure if it supports the formats you mention, but audacity is good and also open source, hence free.
