Hi guys, ive owned websites for a couple years now, but always had someone else do the hard work. Now my current webmaster is being lazy, so i decided to try and do a couple things myself. Ive been looking to install gallery 2.1.2 from here http://gallery.menalto.com/ but not wanting to fook things up, i'd rather not try aimlessly to get it to work.

I'm obviously not as computer literate as i thought i was, and finding the installation guide a bit complex for my basic understanding. Would someone mind taking the time to get me started. Ive got all day today to work on it. Ta, Ben

It's not TOO bad

Use an FTP program (I use Terrapin - it's a free trial download)

Then follow the instructions to install it. The thing to remember is that there is no bit to install on your PC (ie no .exe file) - it all needs uploaading to your websapce & run from there.

Hope that helps

Chris

cheers. my web hosts were good enough to provide me with fantastico which made installing it 100 times easier than it would have been otherwise. Just have to hone the gallery to how i want it now
