I upgraded to ie7 this am and am now having problems connecting to some sites and programmes (ie gaming sites). I ran a network diagnostics thingy and got this message;

"Windows did not detect any problems with your internet connection over HTTP and HTTPS but was not able to make a successful connection over FTP. The most likely cause of this problem is that a firewall client running on your machine is blocking the necessary FTP ports".

I have not the faintest idea what that means. Is the FTP (whatever that is) issue causing my problems? And ideas on what I can do?

Thanks

Paul (technically illiterate)

FTP - File Transfer Protocal - does exactly that.

IE7 seems to have some compatibility issues with some sites... I've rolled back to IE6.

I think you'll find that it's a Flasher Transgression Prognostic failure. silly

Is there a bloke outside in a Focus with a pair of wire cutters? hehe
As Podie says, FTP is unlikely to be your problem
