Port forwarding and security ?

Is/are there any security implications when using port fowarding in a Torrent situation ?

Apart from the obvious one of d-loaded content.

If you open any port inbound there's a security risk.

It comes down to how much you trust the software listening and handling requests on that port to be secure and have no vulnerabilities.
