wmp 11 wont play avi files

trying to watch a few clips on piston heads tv,but wmp 11 wont play ! the sound is there but no video,i get coloured blocks on the screen,anybody any ideas

avi is just a "wrapper" for a number of different formats, it's probably something like DivX so just need the right codec. Try this "all in one" codec pack and you should be able to play most stuff.

Failing that try playing it in Quicktime if you have it.
