Mine came from Game - 179 (same as best online price), or IIRC 199 with Tiger Woods or 219 with any game...

Check Argos though, they had a bargin on the PS3, so might have a good deal.

are the games as good as the PS3?

TBH, I'm only after it for the sports games

no, well, actually its a bit more complicated than that.

One of the main reasons I havent got a PS3 yet is simply because there is not many decent games for it.

The Wii is completley different to both the PS3 and xbox360, the latter which I have and would reccomend for choice, quality and gameplay of games.

However, the Wii certainly gets the 'interactive' vote - and is a lot more involving than the others.

I've only had mine just over a week, and only have the Wii Sports, Wii Play and Resident Evil for it..

However, as a social thing, its fantastic.. the missues and I were playing tennis most of the weekend, we both ended up with sore shoulders afterwards! hehe

It is a bit like the old SNES with the light gun sometimes, but thats no bad thing, the only let down is really the graphics, it doesnt look next gen (even RE)...

You didnt say what sports games? so i'll assume you mean Wii sports and Tiger Woods golf etc (game has a package with the latter in) and the Wii scores big on this, simply for the interactiveness.

Golf on a PC or xbox isnt really that good, point, click click click... on the Wii, you have to get the swing right, including the strength and speed!

As I said, it has a much more involving side to it than other consoles.

The wii is awesome. Last weekend we had guests over a couple of days - on both days everyone was able to pick up the wiimote and play instantly.

That includes my 70 year old stepdad who had an epic battle on Wii boxing. No way could I hand my mum the controller for by xbox and her have a clue - with the Wii she was smashing the tennis ball around within seconds and enjoying every second of it.

Wii sports is great for pre-beer gaming - bowling is my fave for this.

The only problem is that will have to stand to the side of the image (not face-on like you could on a TV) because you'd block the projection (unless it's ceiling mounted). This makes games a touch more awkward but not much. You'd also have to point the sensor that way.

yes, i'd imagine for the point and shoot games a projector may be problematic (cos of the sensor on top of the TV you see)

Yep.

You want:

Wii Console (comes with 1 remote + 1 nunchuck)
Wii Play (comes with 1 remote - a typical SNES game, but good giggles when drinking)
Extra Nunchuck.

I'm also planning on buying the charger kit - it comes with 2 battery packs and a stand..

do you need the charger or do the remotes charge on a wire when not in use?
