Any BNI/BRE Members?

I have recently been looking into both the BNI and BRE and was wondering if there are any members here? What are they like? Is it worth the annual joining fee?

Bit hit and miss... been to a few meetings (I run a surveying consultnacy) tend to be full of accountants and financial advisors. Found it a bit oppresive so didn't bother signing up, s'pose it depends on your line of business

The few meetings I've been to were a little "evangelical" for me. Either that or an AA meeting.."Hello, I'm Steve and I'm a,a,a,.. Managing Director".....Lots of sales people trying to sell to other sales people.

I was a member of BNI.

To be fair some members had success but i didn't. Gave out a lot of leads but never recieved one back.
It can also be a bit of a mutual appreciation society with no real substance to it. Quite full of new Small Business owners playing the big hot shot.

Turned out to be a very expensive breakfast each month
