I have read a lot about WiFi and all one needs to do is find a hotspot and you can connect to the internet.

Well I now have a WiFi card for my laptop, but how do I find the Hotspots? Is there a register of WiFi hotspots and the chargese for using them anywhere?

Just what the doctor ordered! Mind you has't got the only site I knew about before asking the question, which is Burger King Guildford. Theres sign in the Burger King giving details iof the WiFi provider too, but I can't remember who it is. And I am not driving to Guildford just to find out!

You need to look up wall (or is that war?) chalking.

These marking give details of 'free' either provided or not secured wifi points

There are often points at airports but they are expensive (Zurich is 7GBP for 2 hours, but flight info is available free).

BT Openzone charge £12 per month and have a list of all hotspots on their website. It's a 12 month contract and currently the first 6 months is free, which if I recall my O-level maths correctly makes it approximately £6 per month.

Have a look at www.btopenzone.com

It lists their hotspots also.
