Anyone else having issues with PayPal?

I bought some gear off ebay last night and everytime I got to pay for the stuff through ebay it comes up with the error 'This payment cannot be funded with a credit card at this time. Please try again.'

No troubleshooting section and no support number to call.

Anyone else experienced anything similar?

not had any problems paying, but have had emails from them saying I'm now a PayPal Europe customer, and not a PayPal US customer any more? Dunno if that helps at all?

Have you had your account "verified"? There is a upper spending limit of £500, if this new transaction will take you to/over the limit it won't let you purchase anything until you've gone through their verification process.

I used my account yesterday, no problems to report.

Can't say I've had any problems with it ... other than it makes spending money far too easy.

Having exactly the same problem. Finally tracked down a couple of CDs I've been looking for, (they're Belgain and I got them in Australia - go figure), and now I can't pay the guy.

Finally gave up and called their helpline whch wasn't very helpful and am now back where I was a week ago. Annoying..

From www.paypalsucks.com/

They hide their telephone number, (intentionally - by their own admission) and only provided support via "form" emails:

I finally found an email form to contact them so have completed it.

Response time: 2-3 days on average, could be up to 30.

Marvellous

Got this in response to their email helpline. Phoned the number, got thropugh to a call centre and was told to read the online help as that would solve my problem.

D'oh, why didn't I think of that? Give it a go, you may have more luck..

Ah ha!

Finally got through to a nice young lady with an irish accent who told me that the error message I was recieving was due to a percieved issue with the vendors account.

Why they just couldnt say that in the error message I have no idea!

Seems genuine enough, good feedback, a website selling the same items (albeit at a higher price).

They are only phone housings and a screwdriver, personally I think its PayPal...

When Vendor setting up Paypal account, thing they need to agree to take cards, and agree to pay a %. Otherwise think you can put money into your paypal, then transfer to theirs.

PayPal are fraudulently operating as a bank, whilst not complying with banking legislation. I won't touch them with a barge pole.

Update:

Emailed them and called them

The girl on the phone said it was a problem at the vendors end (but he recieved 25 payments from other people the same day)

The email said you need to build a history. So how exactly do I do that then if you wont let me pay for anything you complete and utter cretins?

Off to pub at 1pm, will compose a suitable reply...
