Pipex's full business service has a 20:1 contention ratio, and is indeed £50/month ex VAT

However, their Small Business packge (which I have) has a 50:1 contention ratio but os £25/month ex VAT.

You pay your money and take your choice.

See this page for pricing and what you get for your money (which is the ADSL connection, 50Mb web space, 12 unique email addresses each with its own password, basic e-commerce and full Newsgroups WITH binaries)

Yeah, I checked out adslguide which is great for performance and pricing information, but let's face it, these guys are using it to serve their business purely on an email/web browsing front. They don't need low latency and they don't honestly need masses of bandwidth. The one thing adslguide doesn't give you (that I can see) is the terms of use between the providers.

I think we're settled now anyway, will go for Pipex or BT's "share 500" which, as has been pointed out, have slightly better contention ratios for business users. Again, a moot point with my client, but ah well!

Thanks for the tips chaps'n'chapesses :]

We use Claranet - have had no problems in the 2-odd years we've been using them.

Same here. My dad has a few hundred salesmen using claranet connections and no noteable problems in about 5 years.
