Hey all

I have just been offered the iPhone 4 16gb for £20 a month for 12 months and £379 for the phone

This beats Tesco's deal by about £50

I've been with 3 for 6 years and they have been okay, but does anyone know of a deal that can beat this?

And i presume i will see the bulk of that £379 back when it comes to selling?

Danny is this deal available to everyone? Or just existing/good customers?

I'm not sure, we've been with them for 6 years

I just mentioned Tesco's deal and he offered me that - that said Tesco's deal is still better! I think i will be ringing up tomorrow to see if it might have been a 32gb version as the guy was certain it was the best deal going (But that said he was salesman)

I still think buying the iPhone by itself and getting a SIM only tariff separately is the best way to go about things. I paid £400 for my iPhone 4 of eBay, 2 weeks old boxed as new, and am now using it on the GiffGaff network which costs me £10 a month for unlimited data/ texts and 150 minutes (Currently on promo offer with 250 minutes this month). No fixed contract to sign up to.

Its not too bad actually, it seems like a sensible deal but I wouldnt say it was great. In total over the 2 years your paying nearly a grand. How much data do you get with that? Unlimited?

I personally went pay as you go, but I think the benefits you got for the extra money (£220) are well worth it if you are going to use them (plus its a 32gb iphone)

Thanks Kaelic

Just had a good conversation with one of the managers at Three, he was quite intelligent but he said some things that made me laugh

"Having an iPhone on Three is like driving down a smooth road, with others the road will not be so smooth"
"Iphone is made out of glass and steel metal, same as helicopter"

He also wouldn't give me that much information on the HTC desire HD :| Was very keen to put me on an iPhone deal

Where are you?

I used Three with an iPhone 4 around Herts/Beds/Bucks/Cambs and it is by far the best network I have used the iPhone on, much better than Vodafone or O2.

I upgraded when 3 first released the Iphone 4. Like the op been with them for 6 years the deal I was offered was:

24 months

£180 for 32gb
£25 a month ( includes £5 loyalty discount a month)
500 text
300 mins
5000 three to three
2gb allowance ( 1gb internet add on chucked in for free)

Although I think the new contracts are unlimited data with no fair use policy.

The route I took was:

Unlocked Iphone4 from Apple (16gb) - £499

3 Sim only £15 per month iphone4 plan

300 mins (any network)
3000 txts
2000 3to3 mins (family and gf on 3 wink)
1gb internet.

This is a 1 month rolling contract too, which is the main reason I chose to go down that route as I hate been locked into a contract. Also after the cost of the initial phone purchase it only costs me £180 per year in line rental and I can sell the phone and end the contract whenever I want.

Not everyone will want to spend £500 on a phone but if you want an iphone 4 there isn't really a "cheap" way of doing it.

(I got £280 for my 3gs at computer exchange so it only cost me £220 to change, think you can still get around £250 for a 3gs now at cex.)
