I am having trouble getting my ps3 to recognise the phone when it is connected via usb. I want to play music and films stored on my phone through the ps3 onto my tv.
Any suggestions?
Go into the settings menu and then into wireless and networks. Then go to USB and click connect storage to pc. Do this before you connect it to the PS3 and this should mount it as mass storage.Any suggestions?
Alternatively you just put it on the same network as the PS3 and fire up Allshare or Twonky Server which will present the S2 as a media server.

4.0.3 Announced for Q1
The Galaxy S won't get it through the official way though!

Excellent, although face unlock is totally flawed.
I think it's a nice feature that just needs some work done, like Siri is for iOS.Also, don't forget, Google TV will have this and then it could be a great solution for a multi-user unlock.
For a phone, usually one user and often in bad lighting conditions, I agree that it's totally flawed.
For example a tablet, that could be a different matter already...
You just have to use your imagination a bit I'll keep using my patern-unlock anyway, love it, quite secure yet extremely fast input.

Just plugged my S2 into a TV at work (New Sony LCD) and it is shown as an MHL device and can be controlled by the TV remote :Cloud9: Can use the remote as a cursor and select apps, videos and play/pause etc.
I have a new Sony LCD and an S2. When you say plugged in - what do you mean?ATM said:

BUT, just looking for your opinions on the Galaxy S2.
At present, got a BB Curve 8520, approx 26 months old now - absolutely knackered - and not that impressed by the way it's fallen apart over the past 6 months.
Anyway, plan for me was to go for an Iphone. Just rang up my provider and asked to cancel my contract as i can move elsewhere for a bit cheaper but they've offered me a good deal on a Galaxy S2.
Just wondering, any good?
Not overly concerned if a new model due soon. Not one for having 'the latest' of everything!

A fantastic bit of kit.
It's brilliant in standard form, but you can root it, overclock it and do pretty much what you want to it, if that's your thing.
You also don't have to deal with Apple product all the time.
Battery life is good for what it is - a day at best.
Incredibly thin, good looking and a really quick dual core processor.

Battery not a worry. I have a 2nd phone for work just in case. I can plug my BB in at 10pm, charge it for hours, unplug it at 7am and it was totally dead by 1pm. That's with a couple of texts and an email. Not a single call. Only been like this a few weeks. Talk time life is down to a few minutes - seriously. A call's worth of battery life sounds like a luxury!

It'll do everything an iPhone can, but with 10-15% less polish and panache and I've yet to find something useful that the SGS2 does which my old iPhone can't. It's build quality compared to the fruit flavored phones is not even close.
It's all well and good being able to root it and change keyboards etc, but when it's a necessity as the ones provided out of the box are garbage it kind of misses the point IMO.
That said the screen is very clear and bright and the camera seems very good.

For me:- Built-in Google Navigation
- Removable storage (i.e. can swap memory cards - what happens on the iphone when you run out of space?)
- Widgets (a big game-changer compared to the inanimate home screens on iphone)
- The ability to change keyboards (I disagree with your statement about the built-in keyboards...swype is outstanding)
- Not being tethered to itunes and Kies Air - being able to transfer files like this from any PC is superb
- Flash
- Proper app integration - such as being asked which dialer to use to make a call once skype is installed
- The Notification Bar - no equivalent on iPhone and soooooo useful
- Removable/changeable battery - I travel for long periods with no opportunity to charge
- Speed - it destroys any version of the iPhone in speed, especially if using heavy websites and multiple applications
- Automation via Tasker - yes an app, but its power is incredible and simply can't be replicated on iOS
Right, I am having some serious issues with my SGS2.
Currently on 2.3.3 software version. Plugged it into Kies which told me that I could get 2.3.4, so ahead I went, after a backup.
4 times now I have had the same computer BSOD. So I left it at that, and was going to work on the problem another day. Cue me getting to work today, and my colleague who also has an S2, telling me about the software update you can do on the phone.
Went through all that, and it installed ok, as in it went to 100% and rebooted. Now the phone is stuck in a cycle of rebooting/starting up but never gets to the home page. It does the animated flashy S thing, and says SGS2 etc, then just goes blank and does the same over again.
Any ideas on a) how I can fix it, and b) how I can do the update, and c) what is the latest software update available?
Many thanks

I would suggest you head over to XDA Developers and enquire there.
Personally I would re-flash the appropriate firmware via ODIN (there is a thread on XDA with all the official firmwares, a link to ODIN and instructions on how to flash the ROM, although it's a bit daunting at first, what with there being many ROMs to choose from) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1...
