Its a car, has an engine, is going to be re-mapped..........different brand .....thats largely it, so relevant IMHO
Your opinion is fine. However, the 6.2 litre in the C63 produces only 457bhp. Compare that to the 6.2 in an E63 that will run at around 525bhp. Mercedes achieve this by restricting the throttle position on the C63 engine. Re-mapping a C63 engine allows the throttle to open fully. So I can assure you that although you may not see much difference in a Maserati, in a C63 you most certainly will!

Similar "gains" occurred for the Granturismo, on the road, the owners noticed not a lot of difference
The actual gains on the C63 engine are very noticeable. There is a very noticeable difference between the standard and pp+ C63. Ask anyone who had a standard one and had a remap.TackMEU said:

Excuse my ignorance, is the throttle restriction on PP cars or is this where some of the extra bhp comes from?hab1966 said:

This is where Amg release a few of the ponies, however, I understand that the throttle is still restricted in the pp+. I may be wrong, so do not take this as gospel. ecain63 said:
All going well my car will receive the Eurocharged treatment tomorrow care of Phil at Rebellion. That and a carbon front lip being added. I'll let you know how it goes.
It should do well, the 63's also respond well to the carbon intakes, so if there is one available then might be worth adding this as well? Albeit not cheap.Jules.

Jules.
Bank balance is still recovering from having the quaife fitted so the carbon intakes are out for now. Maybe further down the line. I believe Phil does supply these however. Jules.

Had my E63 remapped about three weeks ago. Limiter removed, replaced both filters. Throttle response is noticeably sharper. Had the torque curve dragged down from 5k rpm to 2.5k rpm. The difference is staggering. Mappers reckon on 20-25bhp and 30-35lbft increase (quite modest actually) but how the whole lot is delivered is just...well...hilarious. 3rd to 4th at 100 mph the gearchange snaps your neck and the car wheelspins in the dry. Very glad I had it attended to. No joy with with the tune this morning. Something to do with the individual file coding of the ecu not being on the Eurocharged database (because its a PPP car car with some updates already installed). Rescheduled for a later date when the correct file is available.
I did pick up the carbon front lip though. Pics to follow.
