After 1,000 miles of ownership I've only just tried the windscreen washers, and they don't work. No pump noise, no fluid coming out, but the button does trigger the wipers. Is there a single fuse that serves the pump (in which case I'll change it), or not (in which case I'll drop it into Mercedes)?

There's plenty of fluid, and the car's brand new, so the washers have never been used before.

I would imagine you're only pushing to the half way mark. Push past the resistance and water will be forthcoming. The little push is for a flick wipe. :-)

Hope I'm right!!

Hi - long time lurker, havent had a posting account for a few years - but i couldnt resist responding to your post northernboy. I too have recently collected a new c63 and just last week ( also about 1000 miles ) noticed that the washers dont seem to work. Push the button, wipers wipe, but no fluid or motor noise - do i need to push it harder or something ?

Failing that a trip to mercedes may be in order.

I would have thought the pump is kaput. They're only £23 and they're dead easy to change but make sure you order a sealing grommet at the same time. Funnily enough I made the same discovery of my own car only last night. the pump is dead and someone before me has disconnected the water pipe and tied it in a knot. How annoying.

Two new cars both with broken washer pumps ? Maybe a bad batch from mercedes ? Or maybe where not pressing the button properly ? I'm going to have another look at mine tonight...

It works ! Press a bit harder , the button is two stage. How I didn't notice this I don't know.

Thanks for the advice.

A better result than, as an enthusiastic driver / AMG owner, seeking advice from the dealer and not knowing how to press the switch biggrin

Hi guys, my water washer stopped working on my C200 kompressor 1.8 (2006) W203.
I press the stalk and nothing, just wipes. Checked the pump and put a live feed in it and that works......now I'm stumped. Any advice ???

Thanks to this ancient thread I just avoided a trip to the garage. 2 stage washer jet button whatever next.

To make things worse the fuse cover was ajar when I collected the car on the weekend so assumed the guy had tried and failed to investigate
