Mrs Phlap had a 2010 pre facelift 350 CDI Sport fully loaded and ran it for 4 years and 80k miles. Absolutely nothing went wrong with it and only costs were consumables and servicing. As a day to day all rounder it was hard to beat with surprising poke and decent economy. Recommended and part of the reason I now have a C63.
Other way round for me, sold C63 to buy C350CDI!

Done 72k miles now, few issues along the way, MAF Sensor/oil cooler seals/thermostat sensor but apart from that runs like a dream.

Had a TDI Tuning box on for the last 5000 miles and been very impressed with that also.

5 hour drive to Devon saw an indicated 57.7mpg and I don't have a light right foot!

Well the above is an interesting read from a few years ago, and based on the comments I think I will buy this today:

That's got a very good spec - memory seats, adaptive xenons, Comand, HK stereo, reversing camera, sunroof, and I think the alloys, wood and leather are all options too. Probably £10k or more on top of the purchase price when new.

I certainly don't get 57.7mpg in the 63 but it's otherwise behaving! I found it has better traction than the 350cdi which dumped around 400lb ft on the road at no revs. The 63 needs winding up so is easier when you are pootling. Both decent cars imho.

For a slightly different angle, I have a facelift C350 BlueEfficiency, but the petrol one. Since owning it it’s showing 32mpg average, and easily does 40+ on a long run if you want to cruise at 70!

How do you find the TDI tuning box? Does it provide a noticeable difference on settings 3-5 or do you have to take it all the way up to 7? Also do the lower settings improve mpg significantly? I have a 2011 facelift 350 CDI myself & I’m in the market for the TDI box currently. Any info would be much appreciated?

I just left it on setting 7 since I installed it - even see an improved MPG with that, mines also a facelift.

Always been slightly dubious of these devices previously but now wish I had bought it many years ago - serious torque!

Interesting to hear it still provides better mpg even on setting 7! Think I’ll definitely have to take the leap & buy one now. Thanks for the advice

Or you can have my old DTUK box for £50....

Was used on both C350 and CLS 350 CDI without problems. It's just sat here now.

Does it come with Bluetooth compatibility so I could access it from my iPhone mate?

No, it has no connectivity for phones, that's something that is more recently available.

It has 4 different maps and 7 levels of sensitivity, so you can tune how it works, but it is all done within the box, so you have to open it up and move jumper pins. Simple to do, but not as convenient as using a phone. But you can adjust the fuelling and boost profiles to find something that suits. It made one hell of a difference to the CLS 350 CDI, allowing it to run 14.0 secs in the 1/4 mile, which is far from shabby, think 5.8s 0-60mph.

I just realised now that the person who DM'd me about having the box was not the OP, sorry to say that I have agreed to let the other guy have my box now.

On a more positive note, I can say that I personally am on my 3rd TDI Tuning product, having used them for the last 4 years without issues and have had some spectacular results. Safe to say they do deliver what they promise.

I hate to say it as a Merc fan, but the 335d is the more fun, quicker, drivers car if there is such a thing when diesels mentioned.

Merc still has the hydralic steering with feel , though smile .
