Another great review by Mr Harris, car looks drives fantastic, they have another sure fire winner on there hands, just need to get used to the new pricing structure.

really liked that, great camera work too. The interior looks pretty special great. They're going to sell by the bucket load..... Guess I better get rid of my 2010 C63 now, and pick one of these up (used) in 2017...

Excellent video and informative throughout.
Wish Top gear was more informed and less slap-stick. This would be too nerdyfor mainstream TV but i am sure the majority of viewers would appreciate propper reviews, not firing a fking manakin through a shed window.....

Great review. Glad to hear that neither the performance or noise haven't been muted from the last model.

fantastic review .

I think the burning question on everyone's lips was ... will it sound as good as previous generation ?

so pleased it does !

now the obvious question is does it look as good ?

for 70k vs a 2012/62 coupe for 35ish id say not.

thoughts ?

It definitely looks better, sounds better, drives better and is generally just much better. All existing C63 owners should trade up immediately and flood the market with the old model so I can buy one biggrin

Completely agree with that. Wasn't Sunday's episode a complete sham going from the review of the LaFerrari to their ridiculous Peugeot mockery space-filler.

Have always loved Chris Harris's informative videos, he shows real passion for the engineering and then linking it to the driving experience and vice verse.

Am I allowed to say that I'm not too keen on the entirely 'Youtube' focussed references and quips about viewing ratings and skids.

Cannot fault the quality of the aural and visual content. Keep em coming Monkey.

Oh and before I forget, nice to see that the AMG has moved the game on and parrying nicely with the M3/M4. Still think the pre-facelift cars look better than either post-FL or indeed the newer model. M3 is definitely on the right path there. Perhaps AMG are going back to their Q car roots...ish!

I think the old car looks better, the new one is not bad, the rear reminds me of a baby Rolls or such and is not quite right.

However they seem to have got a great engine / exhaust combination. The turbo will be easy to tune too, presumably 600+bhp will be just a few mods away. However will it just be too traction limited on our cracked potholed, dirty greasy roads?

Fantastic interior. They just need to do a Golf R lease scheme now for less than £400 per month biggrin

Enjoyed that, great car in the making by the sounds of it. I wonder if the Coupe will be so conservative, or whether Merc will style that more for those that want the outside to shout more.

It's everything I hoped for. My C63 goes back to Merc in Oct, so I will be looking at replacing it with a C63S for sure.

Nothing else comes close.

The car looks great!

I just cannot see the point in AMG offering two levels.

Who in their right mind would buy the less powerful version of any AMG model - given the price difference is so small.

The price differential isn't that small though - theres a good £7k difference meaning you could get a spec'd-up standard car (albeit with a pedestrian 476bhp) for the same price as the firebreathing S version.

If you're not bothered about 30bhp, dynamic engine mounts and can live with a mechanical LSD rather than an electronic one then the standard car will still be a superb car.

The initial reviews are very encouraging - even the trusty old MCT gearbox is coming in for some faint praise from some angles. The engine performance and sound appear to be exceptional, with CH even referring to the sound it makes being better than the 6.2. Jeez....it must be good eek Then theres the interior which even on the standard C class is way ahead of everything else in it's class (yes, even with the iPad screen which looks just fine from the drivers seat).
