A website has launched to aid those owners affected to group together and collate securely information.

https://www.mercedescrabbing.org

It would be good when those affected register to aid communication across the various online communities.

Beware to the operators of that website, the use of Mercedes-Benz and AMG vehicle photos and company logos without permission is bound to attract the attention of the Mercedes-Benz legal department.

Good and valid point. They are provided to download from Mercedes-AMG private lounge with no restrictions for use attached smile

In case anyone is still interested in this car, just take a look at the waiver new customers are required to sign. Mercedes Crabbing received a copy from a concerned customer.

Interesting.

Is the letter sanctioned by Mercedes Benz UK or is it the local dealer trying to cover their arse? It doesn't seem very well written to me a bit Dealer Principal thinking they can put a lid on it.

They presumably can prove there is no safety issue - should the letter not say 'data on file' or something? No mention of suggested winter tyres.

I wonder what this means now for those buyers who weren't informed before they took delivery?

Here's the letter/waiver.

I'm struggling to come up with the right words to describe this approach. Tragic, ridiculous and unfuggingbelievable spring to mind.

That is staggering !

But at least they acknowledge the problem now - perhaps one small step closer to getting it fixed ?

Hi All,

Well I started reading the thread all excited and now I am concerned! I have had mine on order since October and I am being quoted July delivery (which was originally August). I note that there is a lot of reference to RHD, does the same not apply to LHD vehicles?

I live in Switzerland so mine will be LHD and we have to have winter tyres by law, this aside its not a fix for me, it's because we have snow, not to stop crabbing!

I can cancel my order but I am so looking forward to having it. I had one on test for 2 days and I didn't notice any crabbing. My Q7 going back a while, an 08 model did crab on tight turns but nowhere near the same as some of the videos posted.

Look forward to your thoughts.

RHD only, LHD models not affected.

So many questions... how is it the tyres / temperature then? (Not directed at you gizlaroc) The video looks very extreme and I wouldn't be happy.

I presume if you don't sign the waiver form you get your money returned?

I would expect they won't allow you to order unless you do sign. Doesn't help those customers who have already taken delivery. The tyres / temperature is a red herring. They car does this at temperatures above 12 deg C but Mercedes refuse to acknowledge this. Owners in Australia are complaining and they don't need winter tyres!

Thanks for the response, i hope they come up with a solution. Very bad customer service for a premium product.

Shame, I've got a C63 and saw the GLC43 as a possible next car to replace our trusty Touran for hoofing around kids and stuff. If Merc are pretending there is no problem when there clearly is - that will be a no from me.

Yes it happens on plenty of other cars (my C63 and E46 M3 as examples) but it's brief, non-intrusive and certainly doesn't sound like a wheel is about to fall off. Maybe they see Porsche being able to ignore ims issues and the like, whilst still selling more cars than they can make and think they can ignore it? It seems to be working to be fair...

Video taken yesterday morning in our GLC 250d, very slowly and cautiously reversing and driving onto the main road, dry road surface and temp was around 4 or 5 degrees.

My front passenger side tyre at 4,500 miles. This car is a hazard, and Mercedes just keeps on denying that there is an issue.
