That will be a real shame but agreed it will help the residual on the GTR.
I don't think it's dead yet.The Blackseries build numbers are so low(5 UK SLS BS) that I can't see it having any effect on values either way.
If we estimate 25 GTBS will be/would've been for us then it would represent approximately 10% of the GTR&BS market so it will surely have an affect. I know three buyers who have ordered both GT R & BS and from my dealership alone they had more than 15 names down for the BS!

OK Rain Man
I was looking at buying one (a few years back)so I did my research! Way out of my price range now thoughAs you say though, demand for one will far out strip supply but only because people are looking to make a few quid.
I've had my deposit on the GT black series for almost 18months and it'll be a shame if they no longer have the capacity to develop the car. At the same time I understand that if they are unable to create a car which is that extra step above the GT R there is no point developing something half arsed as the black series name is generating very strong appeal lately as the AMG brand grows.

Fair enough I was going by howmanyleft website. Indeed SLSBS is a beast but I never saw one available for less than £400k.

According to head office Black series is not done on a first come first served basis. I'm not sure this car is dead yet though, as UK HQ seem to have a good indication that it will exist.I've had my deposit on the GT black series for almost 18months and it'll be a shame if they no longer have the capacity to develop the car. Black series has a whole history of being half arsed, it seems like every other one is decent and then in between ones are just bodykits.
I'm really hoping it will exist
Another track, another record!

PS Mount Panorama track is epic, a trip to Oz to experience Bathurst and maybe a couple of cheeky laps is definitely on the cards.

Hi all,
The amg gtr is going to be the most powerful car but as it's not going be to a limited production car, do you think the amg GT c edition 50 will be more desirable as they are only going to build 100 cars in total, 50 coupes and 50 roadster .
I think it will hold its value or appreciate, my budget doesn't allow me to get a car that depreciates rapidly .
Please give your expert opinion.
Thanks

This is like the limited run of GTS models they sold at the start of production. Agreed they'll be more sought after than the standard GTCs & in sure will look stunning but I think the GTR will attract a premium for longer. The fact that Mercedes are publishing the 2 year waiting list I think is a good sign for the residuals of that model. The dealers are saying the same. I think you'll be if on the edition 50 if you run it for 6-8 months. The amg gtr is going to be the most powerful car but as it's not going be to a limited production car, do you think the amg GT c edition 50 will be more desirable as they are only going to build 100 cars in total, 50 coupes and 50 roadster .

I also had an order for a GTC roadster but apparently there aren't many orders registered for it so I'm cancelling it for the same reason you've said, worries on residuals. Looking forward to my GTR.

If you can't afford to take a hit then I don't think you should be buying a GT at all.The amg gtr is going to be the most powerful car but as it's not going be to a limited production car, do you think the amg GT c edition 50 will be more desirable as they are only going to build 100 cars in total, 50 coupes and 50 roadster .

I actually went to the dealership for black series, they said they are not going to build it and they suggested edition 50 as its limited to 100 cars only.
As no one here is excited about the edition 50, I should switch to GTR, will be way down the waiting list and only get the car if the market is still strong.

Broadspeed are showing the usual discount on the GT C Roadster. They tend to be pretty accurate with pricing discounts.

It's a difficult one as you know because you'll get the edition a lot sooner.
I was surprised to be told there won't be a discount on GTCs. Def no discounts on the GTR

I apologize not reading through the whole thread, but anyone have any pictures of the roll cage of AMG GTR with AMG Track Package?
I would love to see how much room the roll cage takes from the trunk and how does it look like. Haven't found any. Bit surprising as it's a cool feature for GTR only. The risk is the package is not ready and not yet in production. Same has happened with selected Porsche models before, if you ordered one with race seats or a roll cage it could have been delayed for many months in the start of the production.
So, any pictures or comments appreciated!

I'm surprised dealers are still quoting 2018 for delivery for recent deposits. There are well over 200 orders which might already exceed UK's allocation and allocations are centralised so you'll be very lucky to get a GT R in 2019 if at all. If you really want a GT R you'll have to pick up an example which is being flipped but by the sounds of it your main focus is making money by flipping yourself. In which case you're a little late to the party...
If you want an awesome car with some slightly limited feel the GTC50 is the one to go for. It looks awesome and will undoubtedly be an enticing package; if I had space in my garage I would order one myself. If you're here just to make money I'd suggest that you pick a different marque.
