I apologize not reading through the whole thread, but anyone have any pictures of the roll cage of AMG GTR with AMG Track Package?
I would love to see how much room the roll cage takes from the trunk and how does it look like. Haven't found any. Bit surprising as it's a cool feature for GTR only. The risk is the package is not ready and not yet in production. Same has happened with selected Porsche models before, if you ordered one with race seats or a roll cage it could have been delayed for many months in the start of the production.
So, any pictures or comments appreciated!
I've seen some on instagram of a green painted cage. Can't find it at the moment.I would love to see how much room the roll cage takes from the trunk and how does it look like. Haven't found any. I've been told that spec choice will not affect my build date.
[quote=rs200evo]Broadspeed are showing the usual discount on the GT C Roadster. They tend to be pretty accurate with pricing discounts.
I've phoned Broadspeed out of curiosity & as I suspected this was for the run out of the current model. No discounts on the new GTC coupe/ roadster........

Fair enough I was going by howmanyleft website. Indeed SLSBS is a beast but I never saw one available for less than £400k.
I've had my deposit on the GT black series for almost 18months and it'll be a shame if they no longer have the capacity to develop the car. At the same time I understand that if they are unable to create a car which is that extra step above the GT R there is no point developing something half arsed as the black series name is generating very strong appeal lately as the AMG brand grows.
According to head office Black series is not done on a first come first served basis. I'm not sure this car is dead yet though, as UK HQ seem to have a good indication that it will exist.I've had my deposit on the GT black series for almost 18months and it'll be a shame if they no longer have the capacity to develop the car. Black series has a whole history of being half arsed, it seems like every other one is decent and then in between ones are just bodykits.
I'm really hoping it will exist

I've had my deposits down on both the GTR (it was known as 'GT3' back then) and the Black Series, both since Feb 2015. I have also been told that although the GTR is indeed on a 'first come first served' basis, the Black Series will be allocated according to customer profile and then sorted by date of those chosen customers' deposits. AMG are doing everything they can to weed out car flippers, which I applaud! I have heard the rumours re 'no Black Series' are in fact being put out there to buoy the desirability of the GTR, it is not their intention to drive up values too, but that is the inevitable effect that desirability has on anything. I have opted for Green Hell Magno, very much looking forward to it arriving. It is the first AMG model which will be delivered to all customers on a single enclosed vehicle transporter, directly from Affalterbach, AMG are raising their game, looking forward to the journey with them!
Very exciting indeed & hat off to you for going for the green. Call me boring for going for black but it will look mean with the black wheels. Yes I heard Mercedes are hot on anyone trying to sell their slots for the GTR. Apparently they had already cancelled a couple of customers orders for this reason & I agree! Shame Porsche didn't do that with their GT3s.......

its 8k here for the ceramics. its a stload of weight right at the wheels. cant help but think you will be dulling the car and its performance by cheaping out of it.
Completely agree with you Mintbird, should go with the RXC wheels too, otherwise it's just not the car AMG meant it to be, it certainly won't be the car running all the records. Even then, it's still under £175k for what it's capable of, what else is there at that price point?its 8k here for the ceramics. its a stload of weight right at the wheels. cant help but think you will be dulling the car and its performance by cheaping out of it.

Hi all
I put down my deposit For the GTR in summer 2016 and been allocated number 194 build slot. They are saying it will be due around Dec'17/Jan'18. What are others being quoted??? Want to know if my local dealer is telling the truth.

150 cars first year seems to be the story. Deliveries won't start till June in the Uk. So I'd guess you'd be well into 2018.

I put my deposit down for GTC 50 and GTR on Saturday , I have been allocated the build slot of 38 for GTC 50, they are only going to build 40 cars for the UK, should get it in Q3 of 2017 and for GTR, they said I should get my car in Aug/Sept 2018 or even a bit earlier.
I am intrigued that you put a deposit down for a GTR on Saturday and have had confirmation that you should get your car in Aug/Sept 2018. Have you had this in writing from your dealer ? I ask as I paid a deposit some months ago and my dealer cannot confirm that I will even get one.A very interesting forum, a few posts early on, "wont be a premium," "loads will be built", and then launch of the cars details and and that lap time, and loads of posts!
I am lucky to have one of the 1st cars, production date 17th May, and delivery 7th June, having ordered it the day it was announced as a possibility in 2015.
If any one is not having ceramics, track pack , then you are mad in my opinion. Would you order a GT3 RS without? If you did it would be worth a fair bit less than with.
As for numbers, my dealer has a good relationship with the person at Mercedes UK who deals with allocation, and the 75 figure that someone else mentioned is what I have been told for this for the 1st year, with another 75 for the next year . After that, it seems no one knows. So this car will be scarce, and should hold its value very well to say the least, assuming a sensible spec, ie roll cage ceramics etc.
I for one am very excited!!

People have different requirements, GT R one of few cars both suited to track focused work and munching many fast road miles and would expect buyers to specify accordingly. Edited by stoatage17 on Wednesday 22 February 14:13
Have you locked in your spec? What did you go for?
I for one am not ordering ceramics or track pack. Agree with City Slicker in that people are ordering 2 types of spec, those like me for more road driving than track & then those who will be using it for mainly track.
Having spoken to my Porsche dealer (I have the next gen GT3 on order for later this year), they agree, 2 types of spec. Both hold their value well. Also checking used cars it looks like approx 60% of GTs have ceramics, 40% don't.
You've done well for May as I was told June & have been shown that June is the first month of production for UK cars (after celebs etc getting their cars)
My spec is not locked in yet.

In 2015 I called my dealer and decided I wanted a GTS after telling him earlier that I had no interest. He called the AMG contact at head office who had just had a call from Jeremy Clarkson cancelling his, low and behold, a few minutes later, his early car build was then transferred to me. Order to delivery was only a few weeks. Doubt there'll be many people cancelling GTR though. You've done well for May as I was told June & have been shown that June is the first month of production for UK cars (after celebs etc getting their cars)

Hi City, I went for Green Hell Magno, no other car can have it and looks great, track pack carbon interior pack, ceramics bucket seats, RXB alloys as( RXC delayed till August, ) carbon engine bay, etc. Should be good.!
Who told you about RXC? I've had my order confirmed, RXC speced and no mention at all of delays.Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
