Anyone else pre ordered the new AMG GTR?

Hi Threesixty, I had also ordered the same lightweight alloys, but was told by my dealer who has been spot on so far,it could cause a 2 month delay till August. I don't want to wait so am having identical looking wheels that are a bit heavier. I certainly won't notice any difference!

They're 4.8kgs heavier! My dealers said nothing, the only issue I'm having is that the 2 exterior carbon packs can't be combined on the dealer ordering system but there's no reason why they shouldn't be combined. Still waiting for MBUK to confirm.
No mention of any of my spec causing delay and my car is due way before august.
Threesixty, I think the Carbon brakes make a reasonable difference to unsprung weight, but the wheels would make no difference to mere mortals like me. However if I was a racing driver, it might make a few 100ths of a second difference round the average circuit, and maybe a few 10ths round the ring!
I would suggest you ask your dealer to check, and if mine is wrong please let me know because I would prefer the lighter ones because the car is then a purer light weight ! I think a collector would prefer the lightweight wheels.

Who cares what a collector wants?Anyway, called my dealer this morning, my car will with RXC wheels and it wont delay things. He suggested that certain components are in limited supply and that although you may have an early build, if you didn't spec the car early you may have missed out because the first batch of wheels have been allocated to other customers.
I would guess that MB did not expect the RXC wheel to be a popular option but everyone has ordered it.

But thanks for the info on the wheels, shortages were mentioned, and he felt that it could cause an 8 week delay. I certainly did speck my car early, but changed my mind and decided to go for the RXC wheels a month or so later. Enjoy your wheels!

Ditto on my order, RXCs would delay mine indefinitely now. I was flirting between RXB & RXC and didn't confirm till a couple of weeks ago and now if you try to reallocate you can lose the RXBs since they're also not available! Nevertheless not too upset as both wheels suit my spec nicely however was surprised to hear MB are having supply chain issues. But thanks for the info on the wheels, shortages were mentioned, and he felt that it could cause an 8 week delay. Hey guys, sorry for being so late to this thread but I was just wondering if anyone knows when their car is arriving? I've had my deposit down for well over a year now and locked in my spec the day the options came out but I have still had no indication from the dealer when it'll arrive!

Your dealer will be given an indication of date as soon as the order is put into the system. Your dealer should be able to tell you what number car you are in the queue, with ~70 cars being delivered into the UK from June til the end of the year you should be able to work out an approximate delivery date.threesixty said:
