I am! My vehicle should arrive in August/September 2017. Where do you live?

Austin, Texas here...

I ordered one with designo diamond white exterior.
That will look stunning! You boys in the USA love your white SUVs & Supercars smile

I just got my build date confirmed as July. I've ticked every option box (including cage and RXC). My (Australian) dealer said he held quite a few EOI which went to water when asked for a decent deposit, so my late order zoomed up the charts. Colour? GHM. Can't wait!
Very exciting!

My delivery ETA is last week of June over here in the U.K. Can't wait to see the car on this weekends Top Gear & also to be in it myself ....!

I heard Porsche are building 70ish Gen 2 GT3's this year, so nice to know this is as exvlusive as that car which retains a premium well into 18 months of ownership.

The 70 allocated for this year include the GTC, I was informed by a senior AMG employee, so it could be nearer 40-50!
I don't know if anone else has read the Top Gear UK first drive/test of the car on the 6th May 2017, but it worth reading and pretty impressive to say the least!
I googled it but couldn't find a review or video anywhere (apart from the initial review last year) maybe it will go live after they air it on BBC tomorrow night?

Hi, If you go to AMG GT | Top Gear then click on to AMG GT | Top Gear (it comes up second not first!) then look to the 1st picture top left of the GHM coloured GT GTR you find the report, it is not a video. Hope that helps .
Just looked it up & it reads well. It's going to be a cracking car! smile

[quote=Stuart1961]Great review on Top Gear tonight.

This should lead to yet more orders and will assist residuals greatly

Just now have to hope I get one having had a deposit down since last year

I've just switched it on. Wow that is a Christmas tree spec GTR.

Love the look of it & that rear spoiler!

Quoting the GTR was quicker round the ring than the GT3 RS is impressive!

I was at Mercedes Benz World Brooklands (my supplying dealer) at the weekend & they kindly let me sit in, play with & rev the beast they have there. Sounds fantastic. Not sure about the suede seats personally as worried about wear but the car looked & sounded fantastic!

Hi
I have only today had confirmation that my car originally promised for May will actually be November.
I also have information stating that only 70 Right Hand Drive cars will be made available for the UK.
My dealer told me they believe no customers will be getting a GTR until June onwards........ mine is beginning of June build so hoping for end of June Del

I'd recommend CG Performance or Autostore for PPF.

Seen so many st jobs done by more well known names.
Do you know what would they charge for bumper, full bonnet, both front wings & mirror backs?

In my limited experience, it is usually only30-40% cheaper to have the major "danger areas" covered rather than the whole car, and sods law says that another vehicle throws up a stone that hits a non protected area! So for me, all or nothing, and it will be all.
Yep I know a few friends who've ppf'd the whole car. I've done ppf on 4 cars now as described in my comment above & thankfully no chips on other parts of the bodywork bar 1 on the side intake of my Huracan but it was no problem as just touched it in before selling. Saved me a lot of ££££ on applying ppf on the whole car. If you're tracking it a lot then I understand doing the whole car smile

Drove a GTC today. Was a bit underwhelmed. Fast, but a bit bluff, and a bit too massive for me. Handled well though but felt very remote and lacking in feedback. Great car to cruise about it though and by god does it look the bks. Superb looking thing, especially from behind. Downchanges in sport + have ridiculous pops and bangs. Assume the GTR will be lot more hardcore and 'connected'. Power steering is sooo light in the GTC.
Ive just recently had the chance to have a good drive in a new GTR & im pleased to say I was very impressed with it!
Took it down some country lanes, motorway slip roads to the motorway etc & it felt really great to drive.
I thought the steering was on point, wouldn't say it was particularly light. Felt well balanced.
Didn't get a chance to really play with the suspension enough but it felt nimble on the country lanes & not too hard.
This car had the roll cage which does restrict your rear view quite a bit, bucket seats were more comfortable than I've experienced from Ferrari & Lamborghini however they felt quite low & no back adjustment so after a long journey yesterday my back was a bit twitchy. If you're shorter than 6 ft, I'd def ask your dealer to hopefully raise the seat a bit. I think they'll be spot on for those of you who plan taking these on the track a lot, good support (I've ordered the comfort seats).
Definitely more thirsty than my 488 Spider.
The sound is great.
Agreed in Sport+ it's a different animal & you get those bangs when changing down the gears quite fast, switch it back to comfort & you don't hear them.
It attracted a lot of attention when I popped it up to London. Friends with Lamborghinis & Ferraris were very impressed, as I am with it.
Love the look of the car. Yes that nose is VERY long but you soon get used to it. So glad it's got a parking sensor on the front as you definitely need it!
I love my new Ferrari but I'm also going to love driving my GTR when it turns up in the next 6 weeks or so, because for the money it's a seriously impressive car!

I drove the same silver car as you FA57EST.

Likes:
Grip - Pushing relatively hard on some twisty sections and the car was completely composed even on the bumpier sections of road
Sound - S+ and sport exhaust is very entertaining
Close gearing ratio - the torque catapults you off in the distance making overtaking very easy and no turbo lag provided you are above approximately 2,500rpm
Bucket seats - I found the driving position perfect (I'm 5'11), very supportive and comfortable enough to drive a whole day

Dislikes:
Visibility - Roll cage was a pain especially when reversing with no camera! Wing mirrors slightly obstructive on the approach to junctions
Width - due to the slow slung seating position and long bonnet I had to be fairly accurate with road positioning on some of the smaller B roads
Egrees - not the most graceful
Brakes - this had the steels and compared to the rest of the car it was the weakest point. Look forward to driving with ceramics

Green Hell Magno with yellow stitching and a high spec, as couldn't see why you would not! I* have a video from the dealer, I am crap at sending things like that, so if anyone wants to email me on stephen.smith@sjpp.co.uk I will happily send them the video!
Nice! I think you'll be the first UK customer (not dealer) on the road in Green Hell Magno. You'll get a lot of attention if you go to any Supercar events/ Knightsbridge lol. Enjoy

I see there is a GTR for sale on eBay (Derby Trade Cars) available from the 1st September at £240,000.

Don't know the Spec but that's quite a premium !
I noticed that. I'd expect Mercedes UK to contact all buyers who have ordered a green GTR & theyll most certainly contact that dealer posing as a punter to try to work out who it is & then cancel that customers order lol.

Mercedes have done well so far. I only know of 1 GTR that exchanged hands on the quiet so far. They're doing a good job policing the order bank & I can't blame them after watching Porsche dealers sell so many 991 Gen 1 GT3s unwittingly to speculators. They've learnt their lesson.

Can't wait to get mine. It's been delayed as apparently I'm told there is an issue with side airbags so put back to the end of the month..... will now have to wait until the 1st September.......

I'll be applying ppf to the front of mine. What colour wraps are you going for chaps?

However still locked in at the factory due to the airbag issue...... strange how a batch have come through & now all AMG GT models - all 3 variants inc GTR are affected / on hold.

Praying it will turn up asap as desperate to drive it!

Spoke to my dealer again today who said still no news on airbag issue at the factory & they're not using their demo GTR so not sure where that leaves those of you lucky ones who've already got your GTR's? Are you being advised not to drive them currently?
