You need to turn the light switch from auto to on, then full beam will work.
No way! How mad is that?! I've had previous Supercars on auto lights & the main beam works fine. This way is annoying but thanks for the heads up.

Anyone with race buckets managed to get the passenger mirror tilting in Reverse? The manual seems to refer only to cars with memory seats...

Not sure the point of your post? Romans sold one in 48 hours, Bramleys just sold there emerald green one for £200k in less than a week. They are shifting. Agree that there are a few more on the market which have appeared in the last week but that is normal for any low volume car - same happened for GT3 RS, 911R, 675LT etc.

I understand fully. I own a GTR and am NOT selling. The problem is that all these so called Supercar specialists are messing up the market. They nearly all only SOR and I don't know of one who actually own their cars. Yes there are seven currently advertised at ridiculous prices and have been so for well over a week. Forget Romans who sold a car for well under 180k, fact! I know the buyer, 'Boss' and Bramley who have allegedly sold the green one (special order colour 12k plus ceramics and all carbon packs) At the moment there have been about 26 GTR's registered in the UK due to the air bag six week delay. Come 2018 the cars will be coming through freely so yes they will be special but not limited in any way so yes I agree if you are looking to flip, get out quickly! I'm not sure that I agree with the comedian who said that the ED50 will be just another limited edition gimmick or words to that effect. Being that there are only 15 roadsters coming to the UK and 35 Coupe's I'm not sure that I agree. Lets see how many GTC ED50 roadsters we see on Autotrader in the next year!
This all aside the GTR is an unbelievable car trouncing almost all the opposition and one to keep! 👍

I thought only 200 were coming to the UK over 2017 and 2018? In which case, that is pretty limited isn't it? I know it is not a limited car but the effect is the same - rather like the GT3. Prices start off high and then level out - but I would still expect it to level out over list given how long you would have to wait for a new one if you wanted one (assuming you could even get a factory order).

I am not sure how it is messing with the market though. If you are getting a new car and keeping it, you are not in the market. If you haven't got an order and you want one, then you go to market. Up to the owners what they want to accept if they are SOR cars, although I know Bramleys owned their car and Merc Nottingham bought their's at MBUK auction.

A limited edition car is limited to a certain number i.e. 1 of 500 etc as was the 911R hence the high prices being asked. The GTR is a production car, yes 70 in 2017 and maybe 70 for 2018 however rumour has is there will be a lot more in 2018 as the production line is properly up and running. Everyone thought the GTS was going to be limited and rare in the early stages!
The ED50 is strictly a limited run of 500 Worldwide, 50 to the UK. You are completely wrong about Bramleys and the like. Give them a call and offer them a delivery mileage GTR and you will be offered 5 th 7.5 k above list to buy. SOR, "Oh yes Sir we can help, we will stick it up for £££ and return you £££" yeah, yeah, yeah heard it all in the past. As a GTR owner I wish I was wrong but a can quite assure you that I am not. Thanks to all the greedy idiots out there our cars will at best hold their retail price for the next year or so, then a slow burn and maybe sometime in the future increase in value. Anyway, I don't give a flying .... cos I think I have one of the best Supercars on the road and I'm enjoying it very much!

If you don't care, I am not sure why you posted!

I am definitely right about Bramleys and Nottingham - I know the purchase price for both. I can believe the others are all SOR though knowing the dealers in question.

But I agree prices will come down gradually. GT3 RS which was in similar volume and was the same as being a non-limited, non-numbered car but with restricted deliveries started off double list and then has come down. I don't see retail until late in 2018, if at all though...the wait time is too long and the car too good for this.

Yep, haven’t felt the need to tilt mirrors when reversing though.

I don't have buckets but expect mirrors are the same regardless of seat type.

Off the top of my head without sitting in my GTR as I type, the mirrors need to be switched to the right side for the left mirror to dip when reversing. When mirrors are switched to the left side when reversing it won't dip.

(If I've got it the wrong way round lol, the opposite works)

Let me know if that sorts it.

I went to the dealer today and confirmed that on GTRs with the fixed buckets, the mirrors don’t tilt in reverse unless you do it manually. frown

I think we should stop waffling about mirrors, seat tilting, ppf etc on the GTR and concentrate more on what it's built for. Been to Goodwood many times in the past on two wheels years ago so know the circuit well. Just been on a Private day in the GTR (running in) first lap 1.29's and maintained that sort of time. Ironic that there were a few far more expensive supercars there, all slower. I did get blown away by a 30k Caterham though! Also embarrassed a couple of 1000cc superbikes through a series of bends on the road on the route home! Great car!!

Goodbiggrin

I did the freebie day at Brooklands today. 2 hours of GTR fun. Learnt a few different things about the car ie Rear wheel steer is deactivated in C and S so if you don’t like it you can track it in S, the car is much easier to slide about with rear wheel steer deactivated. Saw a few youtubers poncing about in their GTRs there as well.

2 more proper trackdays planned this month, loving the car.

This GTR has had its rear spoiler adjusted up. Anyone played with theirs?

Also quick question, how do you get full beam on at night? When I click my arm forward it says auto & no full beam, so I have to manually hold the arm back to put the full beam on. Must be a Mercedes thing......

Hi,
All Merc headlights are same in Auto. Leave them on head with switch away from you and they will auto dip when you come up behind a car or a car comes towards you. Dash shows a A icon in dial, blue head icon willcome on when car decides heads are good.
It works well in cruise driving but when pressing on, they do not come back to full head fast enough after the road clears, ok in my GLE but not as good in my GTR!

So when pressing on turn the headlight dial on right of steering wheel to on instead of A then your back in full control.... I hope that helps?

But remember to switch back to A when you stop.

See you’ve been on Youtube with your car?

Yes sorted the lights. Thanks.

Lol yes 888_mf reached out asking if he could review my GTR. Was good fun. Getting a lot more exposure on Instagram. The feedback on the car is phenomenal. Well done Mercedes!
