Anyone else pre ordered the new AMG GTR?
Discussion
No Rybrooks is a 1200 mile GTR, yes definitely an SOR but probably a very nice car, all be it well over priced. Nottinghams car is a 7600 mile ex MB thrashed and abused car at an excessive price. Clearly they will not sell it at that price but still looks bad!
All this aside has anyone else found how easy the GTR is to manoeuvre and park with the rear wheel steer! Obviously the handing for a two metre wide car is bordering on sublime!

As I said a few posts ago if you are expecting to make a profit all be it pretty small GET OUT NOW! Come the new year the production is very organised at MB and buying a car at list or below will be easy! 12 GTR's on Autotrader and Pistonheads at the moment all at stupid prices. There was one guy selling one at early 170's a few weeks ago, shrewd man who bought it sold it and made 20k! I'm accepting that I have bought mine to use and abuse and enjoy and hopefully not lose a bundle, a 'slow burn' I think is the phrase! Must say over 3600 miles I am finding a few creaks and squeaks rearing their ugly heads and just about to purchase my first set of tyres 😫
Obviously not an investment as in making a living but a great car that will hold its value, common sense really 50 to the UK max and that’s it, 35 Coupes and 15 roadsters work it out for yourself!

I disagree, the GT R is a superior car in every single way and I'd expect the 50ed to always sit beneath it in terms of value. Edited by M Barrett on Monday 20th November 11:00

That's not a valid comparison. 911R is a very different experience to the GT3RS. GT50 is a very similar experience to GT R just less.
Plus the special edition is too similar to the GTC. If the special edition was offered with a manual box, the old 6.2 lump or something which is equally unique, then I'd agree with you. It's just a marketing strategy. If you like it, buy one and be happy but don't hold your breath about values.
The only GT variant which has the potential value wise is the black series. Good luck getting one though

In the same way that a GT3RS sits above the 911R but look at the values. Its called exclusivity!

Its mechanically identical to a GTC, its basically a paint job and wheels. Pink cars are pretty fking rare too but their value is not going anywhere.Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
