Sold my week old 991.2 GT3 manual and ordered a gtr for low down torque and city driving fun. The GT3 was not what I was looking for unless you were at at least 8 tenths ...

GT3 bucket seats and seating postitiin was bang on perfect.
( I have. It seen a gtr only gts and gtc)

I jumped in a gts and felt a little cramped and high sitting with the performance seat,

Questions
Can anyone tell me if the bucket seat sits lower In the GTR and if it has a decent amount of rake?

The GTS seemed lighter (tinny) in the build quality against a 911. Does anyone else find this ?

The exhaust note of the gtc was unreal so the gtr should be epic, I can't wait.
Should I be aware of any issues with the car other than no apple I-play ?
I didn't get a chance to jump straight from one to the other but the race buckets seem lower than the electric seats. Like you, I've got the 918 style buckets in 991 and the buckets in the GTR are comparable for comfort. No rake adjustment of course but it's at just the right angle for me. Long distance comfort is a feature of this car. It's a real GT. See Shmee 150's channel for lots of owner info on the model.

My GTR feels as solid as a rock. I've got the roll cage - maybe that helps.

Re Apple Carplay - you'll have the radio off most of the time. The engine/exhaust is fantastic. It feels quicker than my 991 RS out in open country. The ride is pretty hard on sharp bumps but there's not much else to complain about.

Speak to Tom at creative FX wraps in Bromley. I'm in Surrey too but not far from him.

I've just had my gen.2 GT3 done there. Excellent service & competitive pricing! I haven't applied ppf or wrap to my GTR yet.

How funny I've still got my GTR but have also just taken delivery if a gen.2 GT3 lol. You can see/ feel the difference I think as Porsche have more experience in building GT cars. Love them both though!

I can't comment on the buckets but have heard from a few other GTR owners that they're very hard/ bit uncomfortable. I went for the comfort sport seat. Plenty of comfort but also still holds you in when giving it round corners smile

The doors on the GTR are very light but I def don't think it feels tinny/ cheap.

Agreed the cabin is more cramped in the GTR vs GT3 as the centre console is much higher making it feel more like a cockpit. Very comfortable though.

The exhaust note is awesome on the GTR! Sounds pants on the GT3 in comparison so might have to put a retro fit on that.......

Enjoy yours!

MBUK trying to get 20 cars but expectation is 10.

I imagine there are at least 10 project one customers in uk so I think we’ll all be missing out.

Read about the GT R EVO in this week's Autocar.

Due to be released this Summer which will be the same or similar power but lighter, better aerodynamics and much faster.

Anyone know any more than this ?

As I have a GT R on order with delivery this Summer am wondering why my dealer hasn't mentioned anything to me, e.g. did I want to upgrade !

This is called Clubsport. 40 cars for uk, all gone.

It’s already been mentioned on here. Official launch is September.

Is there anywhere I can read some of the discussion on this car? Scrolled back a bit and couldn't find any on this thread. Searches turned up moot too.

It’s mentioned in supercar section. Not really a discussion. Details thin on the ground at the moment.

threesixty, where did the figure of 40 Clubsport cars come from for the UK ?

Has anyone got any more information on this model other than it is going to be lighter, more aerodynamic and faster ?

I have been advised by my dealer that the Clubsport is likely to be c£25,000 more than the GTR.

Does anyone have a confirmed order for a Clubsport ?

Everyone seems to be getting very excited and wound up over the apparent Clubport/RS40 GTR or whatever gimmicky handle they put on it. Let’s get one thing straight the only GTR worth waiting for if you can get one is the BS and as I said ages ago it WILL be about 630BHP and weigh between 1500 and 1600kg, Perspex rear window, couple of unsightly vents and a bit more carbon but worth buying due to the very limited numbers. We seem to be comparing Mercedes with Porsche now but although I hate to say it being a GTR owner there is no comparison. Mercedes are a mainstream car manufactures and Porsche are and always have been a top end sports car builder, not necessarily a Supercar maker but a car maker who’s models continually out perform the rest! Yes Mercedes have their cars, the 300SL and the SLR but the rest are great but that’s it. Porsche have cars from the year dot that are legendary and their price tags demonstrate, 356 and 500 Speedsters, RS2.7, CS3.2, 959’s, Porsche Carrera GT and all he GT2’s and 3’s that start out at little over standard cars but appreciate better than anything else that you can think of. If you bought a 911 GT3 six months ago for retail £130k ish you would sell it overnight now for £185k to £190k ish. A GTR with a good spec retails at £150 and there are and have been over a dozen with no miles on the trader around £165k and they are not selling. They are all brilliant cars and almost always out perform their drivers so buy what you like and don’t get confused and baffled by these journos who very often don’t know what they are talking about.

Think you will find that there are far less ED50’s on the market than GTR’s and I said that mid year let’s see how the prices compare. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a convertible anyway so bought another GTR! I do agree with you though I was nearly drawn into the gimmicky limited edition thing!
