Did my three hour session a few weeks ago, a C63S for two hours and then an hour in their GTR which was a fairly standard car without ceramics. Well I’ve done a couple of track days already in mine but this AMG session was superb, it really was a great experience and the car as you would expect was phenomenal! Good to have a Merc expert sat next to you explaining some of the electronic gizmos etc, well done Mercedes and enjoy your day.

Speak to Tom at creative FX wraps in Bromley. I'm in Surrey too but not far from him.

I've just had my gen.2 GT3 done there. Excellent service & competitive pricing! I haven't applied ppf or wrap to my GTR yet.

Sold my week old 991.2 GT3 manual and ordered a gtr for low down torque and city driving fun. The GT3 was not what I was looking for unless you were at at least 8 tenths ...

How funny I've still got my GTR but have also just taken delivery if a gen.2 GT3 lol. You can see/ feel the difference I think as Porsche have more experience in building GT cars. Love them both though!

I can't comment on the buckets but have heard from a few other GTR owners that they're very hard/ bit uncomfortable. I went for the comfort sport seat. Plenty of comfort but also still holds you in when giving it round corners smile

The doors on the GTR are very light but I def don't think it feels tinny/ cheap.

Agreed the cabin is more cramped in the GTR vs GT3 as the centre console is much higher making it feel more like a cockpit. Very comfortable though.

The exhaust note is awesome on the GTR! Sounds pants on the GT3 in comparison so might have to put a retro fit on that.......

Enjoy yours!

GT3 bucket seats and seating postitiin was bang on perfect.
( I have. It seen a gtr only gts and gtc)

I jumped in a gts and felt a little cramped and high sitting with the performance seat,

Questions
Can anyone tell me if the bucket seat sits lower In the GTR and if it has a decent amount of rake?

The GTS seemed lighter (tinny) in the build quality against a 911. Does anyone else find this ?

The exhaust note of the gtc was unreal so the gtr should be epic, I can't wait.
Should I be aware of any issues with the car other than no apple I-play ?

Read about the GT R EVO in this week's Autocar.

Due to be released this Summer which will be the same or similar power but lighter, better aerodynamics and much faster.

Anyone know any more than this ?

As I have a GT R on order with delivery this Summer am wondering why my dealer hasn't mentioned anything to me, e.g. did I want to upgrade !
I’ve not heard that but will ask my dealer like you lol. Thanks for the heads up

I have a Clubsport order confirmed too.

I am thinking that there must be far more than the 40 to the UK than has been mentioned.

Also a 17th March post mentioned the 40 had already sold out but I didn't order one until the last few weeks, so in April, so not sure they are all sold out or at least they weren't when I ordered mine.

I don't think the Clubsport will help the GTR prices but I suppose it depends on exactly how many there are.

Once I know how many there are, what the spec is and exactly how much they are I will then decide whether I will proceed with my order.

......or perhaps go the Renntech route !
Agreed! If there are too many then I’ll think twice.

I heard it was limited production so even if it’s 100 cars I’d go for it as Porsche are delivering prob that number on gen.2 GT3s.

I think GTR prices will hold pretty well as the club sport will be a pretty big premium over do won’t suit everyone’s pocket.

Gone a bit quiet on this forum at the moment and I’m not too surprised, wish I had listened to myself rather than be influenced in any way by this forum. Remember certain members I believe ‘threesixty’ who felt that the GTR would always hold more value than the ED50’s come May. Well it would appear that I was correct, far less ED50’s on the trader, none of which are below retail whereas there are several GTR’s at under 10k below list and they are going nowhere! I have just bailed out of my second GTR with well under 1k on the clock for £136k and that was following a day phoning everyone in the country, a woefull Experience! A colleague of mine has been offered a cancelled order fairly standard premium pack car with 11% discount from one of the largest MB dealers. MB dealers have shafted everyone with these cars as usual and they don’t give a t.... ! They will not buy these back for any price although a year ago were saying that this halo car, LOL will be so limited and sought after. MB have now released details of the next gimmick, the GTR RS to entice the gullible amongst us to boost their sales a bit more before the much limited barely available black Series.
Still an unbelievable car, one of the best particularly if money no object but in my opinion tread carefully if not, in a years time I would bet the current GTR with very low miles will be changing hands at around £120k!
Mercedes always said this model was not a limited edition. I’m enjoying mine & she will be 9 months old next month. I’ve had 4-5 traders bid me £140,000 on it this week. Not selling it quite yet.

I could have flipped it but instead bought it to drive. Agreed it’s an awesome car!

My order is in & deposit paid for the GTR club sport which I’m told is limited to just 40 cars in the UK & all slots are already pre sold.

I’ve never gone near a Mclaren but have enjoyed Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, Porsches & this beauty. Yes prices have just started to creep under list price but a Mclaren would have lost me over double.

If you have been offered £140k for your GTR considering what you are marketing it for on the trader and how long you have had it on there, I would grab it immediately. I can assure you that £140k is an unbelievable bid particularly from a trader. I received bids around £133k and £134k from all of the so called 'Supercar Dealers' LOL who incidentally all seem to have cash flow issues at the moment judging by their reluctance to buy and preference to SOR. Yes of course McLaren's and Astons etc fall through the floor unless they are old or limited but that's always been the case. Not many Porsche's fall out of bed, even the gen 2 911T which is not limited and very basic in every way is making over list. I agree MB never said that the GTR was going to be limited but they made it very clear that there was likely to be another two years possibly three of production at 70 cars a year to the UK, 140 or 210 GTR's over two or possibly three years which to me is fairly limited. They omitted conveniently to mention that there would be an updated model little over a year after launch!
I have a couple of private leads on it too so weighing up my options.

What colour was yours? Some seem to be more popular than others. The green has taken a big hit as there are so many now,

I don’t need to sell it hence why I put it on in March at a much higher price then changed my mind, withdrawing it from sale as this car really does give a lot of smiles per mile.

Porsche dealers are the same (as are all Supercar dealers) They won’t buy your car unless it’s a very good margin for them but will SOR it. My gen 2 991 GT3 is also an awesome car but I think the GTR had a little more drama.

I'd say that's quite normal for a dealer to do a deal on a cancelled order or pre registered car. You've done well and what a car! Lead time still long.

I loved my GTR. Kept it just shy of a year as just sold it. Did 4000 miles and it gave me more smiles per mile than my previous 488 spider.

Waiting now for the GTR club sport to be officially announced asupposedly sometime this month and my order is in.

Enjoy yiur beast!

Yes, been speaking various dealer, Porsche, BMW, Jag, Merc. All of them seem to be keen on 10% off easily on a pre-reg stock cars. Not much room on a pre-order.

The GT R is looking a bit of an ugly sister when the E63 is putting out 40PS more for getting on for half the price
Sorry but no comparison. E63 is an awesome car like the M5 but is a saloon and obviously much cheaper. The GTR is a supercar. It has less depreciation than a Huracan, 488, 570 & 720S, can handle as well as those cars as well as getting as much admiration/ interest as cars twice the price........

Ah, the trackday special, ideal for sloane street;)

Car launch is delayed because of emmisions regs.
Ha Ha I will no doubt track the Coub Sport tbh. I enjoyed the GTR on many countryside jaunts with other supercars.

My dealer knows nothing about a delay to the C.S so did you hear it from AMG UK? How annoying! I trust you have one ordered too?

Don't mention delays because of emission regs !

My GTR was originally supposed to be May delivery, then June, July, August, September and now who knows !

Mine came off the production line two months ago and went to the independent emissions test centre in Germany for testing and two months on it is still there.

They say patience is a virtue.....!

That is terrible! Sorry to hear that! Mine was delayed last year by 2 months so know what it's like. Hope you get it soon.

If you do venture out on track this time, do let me know. I've only ever seen one other GTR on track and the owner just pootled round, its a terrible shame that no one tracks them as they're far quicker than most realise.

Info from UK head office as always. Have been promised that all the issues the GTR has will be resolved but we'll see!
Will do. Another friend who is a bit of a track king has one on order too. Always trying to persuade me to go on the track with him.......

Hopefully we will hear some exciting news from Mercedes soon smile

The residual on the GTR’s are doing better than Lamborghini Huracans & McLaren 570’s.

I’m hearing the GTR Pro will be a limited run with barely 50 cars coming to the UK.

Of course the facelift might affect used prices slightly but that’s the same with all Supercar brands. Also I bet Mercedes will up the price on the new facelift models......

No I sold mine back in October after doing 3500 happy miles.

When are they planning on stopping production of the GTR? Wasnt it meant to be 2 years of production? They have the GTR roadster to come out yet.......

Im waiting on official confirmation I have a GTR Pro. No.1 at my dealer but still no official word from Mercedes/ AMG UK on when deliveries will start........

I also took delivery of my GTR in November after a delay of six months months.

I intend keeping mine for some years, i.e. 5 to 10 years, so not worried about depreciation.

It will be used for Fun and also looking forward to some trackdays this year with two days already booked at Le Mans Maison Blanche and Le Mans Bugatti.

I cancelled my GTR Pro order once the spec was released. I expected it to be more powerful, lighter and considerably different to the GTR. I don't think the Pro looks as good as the GTR and looks like it has an after market body kit especially at the rear, a naff GTR Pro badge on the rear and I was disappointed.

I doubt I will ever be able to get a Black Series but who knows and perhaps that will be considerably different to the GTR.
I have ordered the Pro as its meant to be limited edition to just 40 cars for the UK. Waiting for Mercedes to confirm exact numbers/ delivery times.

I think for 98% of GTR customers wont get near a Black series as Project 1 customers will take priority and probably barely 10 for the Uk. Lets see..........

Yes the GTR is losing far less than the Lambos, McLarens etc but agree youve got to buy it to enjoy. Loved mine. Looking forward to getting the next one smile
