Had the X pipe done 30 minutes after collecting it.
I'll look into where Weistec are thanks.
you send of your gearbox ECU & they send it back with the shift speed changed as well as the ability to have auto blip if you spend a bit of time on the dyno.I'll look into where Weistec are thanks.
Here's the link to Weistec.

I had the cams and exhaust headers done as well as a remap from steen at Kleemann in 2014. It should now put out anywhere between 420-440 bhp . This cost just over £5k.
Was it worth it? That depends! I'd spent a long time looking for the car I wanted (low mileage pre 2006 car with lower tax and the bigger brakes). I knew this would be a keeper so could use man maths to justify it. The performance gains didn't feel as great as the kleemann supercharger pulley upgrade I did on the slk 32 but it's always a lot harder to get more bhp out of an N/A engine.
The supercharger will be next .
My advice would be if you're going to fit the headers don't remove the secondary cats and do the X pipe as when you remove the original headers this will also include the mahoosive primary cats leaving you running straight through pipes. I thought this sounded great for the first 200 metres but then after that it was just undriveable . I had a new custom silencer made the next day.
Also, if you get the headers done it may be worth getting them ceramic coated as there is a fair bit of heat soak which I'm guessing saps some power..that's another job on my to do list.
also, once you're above the 450bhp mark you really need an lsd fitted to get the power down. (Another job on the list..)

I had a Quaife fitted before I had any upgrades put in I'd recommend as the next thing to do after the map & X pipe I also lengthened the final drive so it's now revving at 2000rpm at 80mphWas it worth it? Don't faff about with a puny supercharger - do it properly and drop in a V12!

You're looking at serious money for a well put together supercharger for the 55. Kleemann would be my only go to personally, however it's eye-watering money that you can kiss goodbye when it comes to selling the car on, if you even can.
For the money the car and a supercharger costs, you may as well sell up and get a Z06. That's what I'd do anyway!
I have had some remapping work done on mine with some other choice mods and am sitting around the 380-390bhp , 425lb/ft mark, which I'm happy with until I sell it.
If you're set on the supercharger, buy this and get anyone other than CKS to fit it. http://www.cksperformance.com/index.php?main_page=...

Yes I've noticed the response is better much more predictable when pushing on & in general more confidence in the car when pushing on.
I am wondering. With the SLK you cannot turn the ESP completely off, no? If I were to fit a LSD, the temptation to drift every now and then would be too great to ignore, and it would be a shame to get reigned in by the electronics. Is there a fix for this nowadays?
