Looking for opinions!
Currently have an SLK55 (2005) and looking to change to something different and have my eye on a C63 - probably 2012/2013.
Reason for changing is just for the sake of it and maybe a little more practicality (if I'm being sensible).
I assume that the C63 is more useable as a day to day car but having never driven one I would welcome comment.
Is there anything particular I should be looking out for on the C63 when hunting?
Thanks in advance.
Joe

Decent buying guide at topmof the mercedes section.
youll miss the roof off action but I assume the c63 is pretty superior in most other ways.
I myself have a 2005 slk55 but for me id go e63 rather than c63
I prefer the sleeper element of the e63 and the luxo-barge appeal.
Good luck in your search. Whats motivating you to move out of the slk55 out of interest?

Hi rgv
Having had a Z4 prior to the SLK55 I've done the roof down thing and fancy a change.
Not even looked at an E63 as probably need/want something a bit smaller. My regular car is an E250 Estate so don't need another one....
As for my motivation, change keeps life interesting! I like, the noise and performance of the C63 whilst a slightly understated car.
Cheers

Hi joe
I reckon when you're at five tenths in the c63 itll be similar to the e250. However I also think the noise and experience of that 6.3 will be something to behold!
guess it comes down to how much you'll use it and for what.
wouldnt be surprised if the e250 starts mothballing .... unless you need the bigger spce/boot
Heres a thought, and left field, but maybe go for c63 test drive having gone there in the slk55 one time, and the e250 the next, as maybe itd surprise ya which gets the flick if the c63 gets brought.
Envious position to be in, good luck.
recently ive found myself casting an eye on 3 series folding hard top. Ticks the more practical box then the slk55 but no v8 and im not sure how meaty the top engines go, dont believe there is a proper M version.
Some of the c63's ive seen with interiors other than black seem to make a big difference to the car. But thats all personal opinion. There is loads on this forum about c63's and on "readers cars" too.

I've had an SLK55 and now a C63 Coupe and the C63 is a much better car, you will not regret the change.
The engine is a work of art in the C63, the chassis feels way stiffer and much more planted and the gearbox is quite a bit better than the 7G.
My C63 is in the classifieds if you want to take a look

Is it yours?
Sure it's been for sale for a while as I've been thinking of getting one, lovely colour but I'd prefer to get a facelift one.
