Picked it up today. Wow, I knew it was quick but wasn't prepared for how quick it could be point to point. My nerve goes long before the car gets anywhere near its limits.
Must say great service from MB Beaconsfield.

Same colour/spec as mine minus the panoramic roof but mine has the 19's, they slip under the radar without the spoiler on the back mines coming up to 3 years old in October as it's only done 13k I'll probably keep it another year, by that time the new rs3 will be filtering through so I may have one.
Your never to old to have a hot hatch I'm 48 in a few months wink

Great cars - and that one is very subtle.

They are mentally quick, and extremely capable.

I'll post some more pics when I get chance. Tried the other day but took them in portrait mode and when posted up they turn to landscape.
Thanks for all the comments in the mean time.

They're as mad as a bath full of otters arent they? Amazing cross country performance as well as phenominal straight line grunt.

I really like the subtlety of yours. Very wolf in sheeps clothing.

Hi

I don't know if you have been shown this. There is an 'Auto Closure' function with the Pan Roof. I didn't find this out until 6 months into ownership.Go to the drivers door and you will find a Sensor ( Black) . Press and hold down the remote against the sensor and it will close the Sunroof and close the windows and Visa Versa . +1 for Hughes of Beconsfield.. Enjoy the car.

When I read the thread title, I thought you'd say you were in your 70s or 80s.

You are never too old for any AMG!

Enjoy!

Hi All
Sorry to report but the A45 didn't last long. It was stolen on Thursday, thieves smashed into my house and rifled through the place until they found the keys and drove off.
Luckily everyone was out and they never stole a thing accept the car.
I won't go into details but basically the ruthless way in which they broke in and systematically searched for the keys there is very little that I could have done to prevent it. So be careful folks because there is little these people wont do to get their hands on your car.

Simon

I am really sorry to hear that you have had your car stolen. Words fail me.

Will you be replacing it?

If it is not an inappropriate question, did you enjoy it while you had it? I am 57 and bought a Mk3 Ford Focus RS last December as a fun car. It is great fun but I am thinking about the A45,

Best wishes

In case Simon doesnt come back on in a timeframe that works for you - heres my tuppenceworth on ours...

It would depend on your motivations - if you're looking an auto box, then great but i cant see what an A45 would otherwise really give you over a Focus RS - it would be marginally quicker i'd have thought but not "must have at any price" quicker.

Its also worth noting your Focus will have held its money better, whereas the A45 will depreciate significantly.

If you're buying new, make sure you get a strong discount - around 15% is available via the likes of drivethedeal
