I am looking at a 2011/2012 Mercedes with a petrol 5ltr v8.
I plan to use it as my second car so will only be using it for 2/3 days per week
I am not familiar with these engines.
The one thing that is worrying me about this vehicle is that it has had 4 owners
Any information will be appreciated.

Ours has been very reliable indeed mechanically.
Anywhere from teens to high twenties on fuel.

I've never worries about number of owners, some cars are bought to scratch an itch for a year, then sold on.

I'm the 8th or so owner of both my SL600 and M5. Buy on condition.

It would probably help if you were a bit more specific about model; there was the newer 4.6/4.7 twin turbo V8 introduced approx 2010/2011, and the 5.5 V8 in various forms, which continued in twin turbo form in some AMG 63s or in N/A form in the SLK 55, although I think they were introduced in 2011/2012.

I'd buy on condition, not owners, unless something rang alarm bells. Some were pre-registered, some company owned etc.. If it had 1 owner on a 3-year PCP and then 3 owners in quick succession, there might be a reason for the quick turn-around.

I have no idea what car the OP is on about. I'm not sure they did a 5.0litre V8 in 2011/12.

I have 264,000 miles on my 1999 Mercedes 5.0litre V8.

It's rarely the engine that goes.
