I have never been happy with the transmission in my 2013 C63. Shudders at take off, slurred upshifts at low throttle and generally prone to getting confused what gear it wanted to be in when moving in urban driving conditions. Chalk and cheese compared to my old pre FL C63. Had raised this plenty of times with the dealer but always the usual "they all do that mate". Even the scheduled transmission service last year, when apparently a few things got "reset" made no difference. So at this years service I again raise it and lo and behold there has just been a TCU software uograde released!!! The difference is significant, particularly with the smoothness iof the upshufts even in S+. But with all things with Mercedes there is always a catch! In spite of my banging on about the transmission since the car was new this was not covered under warranty. And in spite of spending a small fortune last year getting the transmission service done and another small fortune on this years service forget any goodwill gesture - this upgrade was entirely on my ticket.
So definitely worth doing the upgrade, perhaps you might have more luck than I getting this done under goodwill.

If someone raises an issue during the warranty period, but the warranty has since expired, you could do what I did and contact AMG customer relations by email. They covered another issue I was having under their goodwill policy.

Before the warranty expired, I had the same issue with the gearbox. I complained at 6 months, 12 months and 24 months and I was told that new engine/gearbox firmware had just been launched the last time I complained (this was in 2015). I found it needed both the engine and the gearbox software updating to really get rid of the issue.

Dealers are reluctant to do the updates as it ties up one of their computers for something like four hours.

I am still under an extended warranty. When I pushed them on it the service adviser made it clear there was no fault with the transmission. The TCU software was instead an enhancement that I could choose to have installed at my expense. I can to a point buy this argument but the absence of any apparent goodwill on this when the car was in with them all day for a major service really irks me. I would have thought these little value adds (at little real cost to MB) would help develop and maintain loyalty to both the brand and dealer service departments, but clearly not. Instead it has completely eroded my loyalty to this particular dealer and almost certainly to future vehicle servicing in the MB network.
