How are the bores? Did you drop the sump? If you caught it quick it might just be white metal you are seeing the journals could still be good. Worth a punt for the sake of £20 worth of shells and a £90 oil pump, get a degreaser gun full of parrafin and blast everywhere you can. It would cost you nothing other than a few hours to at least drop the sump, remove tha cam and the big ends and inspect the extent of the damage.

There is no compression so its defo kaput. I think if I had done that when it first broke down rather than driving home then maybe it would have been ok but the 30 mile trip back home was probably the bit that did the damage.

I think so. I have looked around and might be able to get something for £1800-£2000 but honestly I don't think its worth it. I will sell the car as is and move on. frown
