A200 Electronic noise when in reverse

Hello,
My wife has a 2014 a200 cdi, yesterday the road she drives to work on was flooded slightly, since driving through it now every time that reverse is selected there are 4 clicks almost like relay clicks and then a solid tone and the reverse sensors don't seem to work any more.
What could this be? Water in something perhaps?
