My dad was offered a 2014 6.3 AMG with panoramic roof at a reasonable price. It's low mileage but what issues if any should he be concerned with ( other than mpg lol)
Its only done 14k or so and is fsh obviously but would only come with a typical used car warranty.

They are pretty much bullet proof. Check the history which the dealer will have to get printed off from MB, I viewed a few with 'fsh' one hadn't been serviced in 2 and a half years!
Check tyres, disks, pads as people tend to trade them in just before these need replacing which could cost you a fair bit a few months down the line.

Cheers for that. Looks a nice car but time will tell I suppose!

I had a C63 Saloon for 2 years from new (was a 2014 63-plate) and I didn't have a single issue with it. Put 20k miles on and I really wish I'd kept it. Can't say what goes wrong as they age but it was definitely a fantastic car for whoever got it next.

Check the obvious stuff and enjoy it

Loads of these are clocked, I'd be wary of anything with suspiciously low mileage.

Can you substantiate this comment please? Why are loads of these clocked, is it particularly easy to do on the W204? Presumably if the car has a full service history and an MOT that backs up the previously recorded mileages in the history then the chances of it being clocked are slimmer.

that doesn't bare anything factual, surely.

probably worth noting which is often over looked is there were several attractive lease deals on these cars when released, which means after the general 2 or 3 year lease finished they flooded the market (so to speak) with next to no options and most probably being thrashed. See many youtube videos of them being yobbed about by rude boys for confirmation.

With that in mind i'd absolutely buy on condition and history only, checking for obvious signs of owners skimping such as oddly matched tyres or even budgets and go from there.

I paid over the odds for my 2014 C63 by purchasing it from Mercedes Warrington, so it came with a 2 year used approved warranty. Not to say dealers may not have hooky cars as anyone can, but i think thats where i was happiest to let my money go.

If your concerned about the clocking comment, the bolster wear should reflect on the mileage. These seats wear poorly to be honest but if a car is on 11k miles and the seats look like they've had a hiding then you may want to look deeper into its history. Do a search on here as there are so any threads regarding C63s to purchase... there is also a buyers guide.

I've had two and loved them both.

Agree with the bullet-proof comments. One had an annoying creak when adjusting the steering column (automatic with keyless go) but was fixed under warranty. Panoramic roof on both creaked but only over very unsettled roads......and when the engine wasn't loud enough to drown it out.

I did think my fuel tank had developed a leak at times, but every penny of fuel was worth it.

As someone else said, I wish I'd kept it.

Dont buy FIRE OPAL RED! I had mine fully repainted once, and the issue started again for the 2nd time...had to let the car go as im OCD with paint etc and the “repair” was terrible anyway!
It was my 2nd C63 6.2 so you can imagine that is an absolute blast and one of the best sounding cars.
Expensive to run tax, rear tire every 6k ish, petrol etc.
Now running an A45 and possibly enjoying same pace minus 50% of audio pleasure and extra traction!
So yeah buy it as it will never come back again a 6.2 petrol V8 but NOT RED!
Look it up “ fire opal red problem”.
You should find circa 100 hrs of read

I ran mine for four years and 32,000 miles from almost new. No major issues and loved the car. Only minor issues were with an intermittent dashboard rattle and a squeaky accelerator pedal fixed under warranty. Engine kept getting better, even above 20,000 miles.

I've had a W204 2012 coupe for the last 3 years

Only issues I have had are
- Creaky dash - this is a known "feature". It varies from day to day and can depend on random things like temperature. A friend has the W205 and actually has the same issue
- Steering - had the crabbing issue / turned out this was due to oil leak. If you get the chance drive the car on full lock to check for this

Brilliant car, not sure what I could replace it with go give the same mix of performance and practicality. Maybe an E63 of some flavour?

Coupe values seem to be holding up well. If you can stretch to a 507 even better!
