As we’re now fully off topic (sorry OP), I’m looking at summer rubber in 6-8 weeks or so when the conti winter contacts come off.

Ran Michelin Pilots last time, but we trashed them on a track day.
I’m thinking Eagle F1 asymmetric 3’s for about £480. Anyone tried them on a W212?

Im running them all round. Softer than the previous Bridgestones so Ive upped the pressures as the shoulders were starting to wear a little quicker than Id like. Good grip in all weathers (I live in West of Scotland with plenty rain), wearing as well as anything Ive had outside a Michelin. Reasonable alloy protection rim, and quite an attractive side profile design if youre into that sort of thing.. !

Ta muchly. The bus is a family cruiser rather than a sports car, although it’s driven appropriately swiftly when the occasion arises.

Ultimate grip and steering feel (there isn’t any) are not as important as braking performance and ability to clear water.
And, depressing, noise. God I’m old.

Likewise, but my wife drives ours as much as I do, and she does like to accelerate, brake and corner hard and chuck it through roundabouts, and they appear to hold on well whilst my face is squashed up against the side window.

They do still handle standing water well, even half worn. I'd buy them again, as we live in what is probably the wettest part of the UK (thats why we're all miserable alcoholics up here) so I always buy tyres on wet weather performance. Theyre st in the snow, but its a RWD barge with fat summer tyres, so hardly a surprise smile

I cant comment on tyre noise, I deal with that using a combination of Biffy Clyro, Iron Maiden and the Foo Fighters amongst others.

I had them on the S211 and my trusted tyre guy hates them. Construction is poor and the inner walls bulge. Ironically (or presciently), he then checked mine and spotted exactly that! I would avoid.

Duely noted.
It is a very heavy car.

Is it true that the tiddle tank prevents the storage of a spare wheel?
Sorry for not replying sooner, I missed your question.
Yes, the tiddle tank (that is now want I shall call it) takes up what was the spare wheel location.
The car comes with a compressor and some gunk instead.
