Production delay for new E Class

Thanks. Perhaps mine will land at the dealer before the 19th then, especially as Killingholme is spitting distance from the MB Oop North dealership I'll be collecting from. I guess it all depends on how long it takes to get on a ship at Zeebrugge.

Exciting times. After 5 months of sod all happening, things seem to be moving on at a decent pace now!

Production complete. I got sent a timeline from their ordering system and it took 50 days from when my VIN was assigned on Feb 14th, 2018 to "Production Complete, not shipped" on April 9th. Which seems a little excessive but, it's on the way and I'll be driving it as soon as they can get it to me. Hopefully they've got their production issues in order now.

That’s good news, Carac. Hopefully you’ll have yours sometime in May!

It seems that they’ve got their production line back in some sort of order now.

Mine is now at the dealer’s PDI centre so I’m just paying for it ready for Friday :-)

I emailed my dealer this morning, saying I want to pay today. So far I’ve had no response. They obviously either don’t want my money, or are going to let me have it for free, as compo for all the delays.

Me too. Off to london with work tomorrow then cross country to stay overnight In Cardiff. Train out to dealership from the town centre at 1015am. Then the fun begins. Will post some pics if I can.

Thought I’d see what the chrome looked like wrapped. Thoughts?

I have been considering doing that, but after seeing one with it done I’m not sure I like it. I like how the chrome strip matches the AMG lettering and the star on the front. If I was to get anything wrapped black it would be the boot spoiler.
