Out of curiosity, why?
I'm told the OEM standard brakes leave a lot to be desired.

Bigger fuel tank to 80L (very important!!!!!!!)

Ordered 31st of August, when did you guys order?
I'd definitely have ordered a larger fuel tank if that option was available.

Funnily enough on my test drive of the E63s, as well as the sales assistant nearly crashing the car, choosing a dismal route (through a busy town centre, 1/2 mile along a dual carriageway and to a petrol station), she informed me that the car only had a 40L tank and that the car "only does 180 miles to a tank" laugh

I ordered mid-October (through a different dealership).

Interesting. It is a big, heavy machine I guess. I had pagid RS29s on my track car but they really needed regular heat cycles going through them and were ste until properly warmed up. Though once warm they were amazing. I think they were track focused though, not sure about their "street" pads.

What was your track car?

It may be a first world problem, and I’m not get sympathy from my wife at all, but it’s certainly really annoying. Others just don’t understand.

Maybe they’re knocking out the backlog of RHD cars first.

I'm due to get my call from the dealer tomorrow. I ordered mine (with the second dealer) on 11 August. Fingers crossed for good news - though they can keep it whilst the snow and gritters are about!

Any news?

I’m quite glad this thing was delayed, as a 1st March pickup would have been horrendous yesterday. I’d have either got stuck halfway oop north, or froze to death on a blocked motorway on the way back.

Had to drive to pick up the wife from the train station last night, and on the way back some idiot in a RR going wayyyy too fast on snow kicked up a stone and cracked the windscreen of my F-Type. Would have been livid if it had happened to my Merc on day one.

We experienced similar. Ordered in July last year a E350d Estate but kept delaying and delaying delivery we just cancelled the order and got a 530d Touring which we are happy with. We were told the delays where due to the widescreencockpit and the 350d engine. There wasn’t a new e class with an E350d to even test drive but we felt the 220d not enough for what we wanted. It’s a bit of a shame as we actually liked the car

Sadly not. I've sent an email to chase as I couldn't bear hearing about another delay on the phone (coward!) I will console myself by collecting wifey's new Velar P380 in a couple of hours. Maybe the smell of new leather will boost my self-worth a little!!

Ouch. Right pain that on the F. I had someone chuck up some garbage yesterday; but as I was in the Navara - which is my 'couldnt care less' spare driver (for tip runs; kids, bikes, wet dogs, WTF etc etc) - it was of little consequence. In fact, forget winter wheels/tyres: everyone should have a pickup truck in the Winter :-)

No email received today :-(

Still, spent 2 hours sorting the wife's new Velar out (forms, forms and more forms) and whilst sitting there, my OCD spotted the minutest of door misalignments (like 3mm) so it's going back in for that at the earliest opportunity.

All I can say is that E class better be perfect when it comes! :-)

I’m in the US waiting on my LHD E63S Wagon. It originally had a first week of Jan build, moved to first week of Feb, got a VIN the third week of Feb and was supposed to be completed on the 26th of Feb, now the factory is saying the 8th of March for completion but to “not be surprised” if it slips past that too. Shortage of the screens is the problem.

Wow, the screen shortage was what originally delayed my May 2017 order (for 1 Sept 2017) delivery, and it's *still* ongoing?!?
I know that China have had almost a month off recently - no doubt the screens are manufactured there - so maybe that's now the issue with us lot who are 'almost there' now?
I'm nearing 'chocka calendar' status across March and April, so will soon be hard pushed to actually find a slot to get my ar5e down to Cardiff to collect it :-(
Hoping for good news tomorrow then.

Just had screenshot from Daimler site forwarded to me by dealer. Build date now 26 March, with delivery to UK by 10 April. Then add on time for PDI etc so likely I'll schedule the pick up for 16th. Grief.

Build date is now 16/03, with a delivery date of 29/03. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Just gave MB UK a call to try and find out definitively why there are all these delays. The chap I spoke to said I should expect a call back from the AMG UK customer service team within 24 hours. Unfortunately they’re not customer facing, and can’t be contacted directly (probably for this very reason), so am reliant on them getting in touch with me.

My MB salesman megadude is incredibly good, but they’re really making his job hard by delaying these cars, and not providing specific reasons. He’s trying to provide an excellent customer experience, but with one hand tied behind his back.

I'm still hopeful mine will start its build on 26th - reason being it's the first non-Friday date I've been given so far! LOL
