Just purchased 2014 C 6.3 coupe, noticed in traffic engine cooling fan came on...all fine..but later a Fan came on located behind the O/Side headlamp..noticed there is a small radiator there as well...draws air from the inner wheel arch, can anyone tell me what this radiator is for, its not a quite fan at all, did go off after a while. Thanks

I'm sure that's the oil cooler. No idea if it has a fan or not. I'm sure it draws air from the front air dam

Thanks im guessing same, but for sure a rather noisy Fan was going for a while, im ex motor engineer of 60 years, so know it was not the Radiator cooling Fan as this Fan is silent running, of course one cant see a lot below the buried area behind the headlamp. Pete.

It is a supplementary engine oil cooler mounted in the O/S/F wheelarch. It was an option in the US but I'm not sure about the UK.

It’s the oil cooler and seems ridiculously loud like a hoover same in mine and all others I have seen.

I always thought of it as part of its character - and confirmation you’ve been driving the car properly :-)

If you really have been driving the car how you are supposed to you will quickly realise the oil cooler is not fit for purpose (facelift model/smaller air ducts). Do a few laps on a track day and watch the car go into limp mode. Shambles.

Oil cooler from black series is the apparent fix. At a heavy price. Pre facelift model did not suffer from overheating due to design of front bumper.

The magic number to look out for is around 137 degrees.
