Absolutely, I was initially looking for a 202 C43 estate, then got reading into M113 fitments, then scope creep happened..
I've got MBWorld etc login credentials from my W202 days so maybe I'll post a wanted ad.
The E55k stuff is all fixeable at least, air struts go, sbc brake pump dies, charge cooler pump failure, all just parts replacements.
A smaller blower pulley and a remap releases another 100hp/lbft!

Every thought about a C32. Still a seriously rapid car. I am not affiliated with this one in any way but it seems to have had a lot spent on it in recent years.

Sorry just saw, I would but I'd just end up scope creeping back to something faster......

I've found the latest record holder for most cheapest and definitely stolen from Keighley E55k:

Almost smoker barge thread money but would be more like double after the next MOT....

I'm pretty sure the 32 is faster than the 55. And if not you can always fiddle with the s/c pulley...

E55K's are amazing, though. As are the CLS's.

I’d agree. Mercedes played down the 0-60 on the C32 - Autocar tested it at 4.6 seconds I believe in a period road test.

The C32 was / is a really quick car. The 55 is a nicer package to my mind, with improved interior and dash layout.

All good clean fun though, if you can find a rust free one.

The issues that swayed me personally away from the C32 were (i) I understand that Mercedes fixed the worst of their rust issues at the C-class W203 facelift, so I'd expect the C32 to be less well protected (ii) A V8 is perfectly balanced, a V6 isn't (iii) Having the CLK nose is 'cool' ;-)

Having said that, I don't know how refined the V6 is in this installation, and being forced-induction I imagine it's plenty quick and can be easily made quicker. The linked car seems very good value and looks great in the blue, too.
