The Renault 5 T2 is a stunning car and one I regret not buying when they were affordable…I’d love to see a picture
I had a lot of French hatches in the late 80’s/early 90’s including many Renault 5Gt Turbos and several Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI’s. I had a few 205’s with Turbo Technics engines including this one

Those split rim 1.9 alloys were one of the best wheels ever made!I had a lot of French hatches in the late 80’s/early 90’s including many Renault 5Gt Turbos and several Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI’s. I had a few 205’s with Turbo Technics engines including this one
Brilliant! 205 1.6 gti was my very first car (crash test dummy) and the dimma kit worked far better than on the 309 due to the t16 influence i guess, turbo technics had a good rep but janspeed were on my doorstep so used their twin turbo set up on my XR 4x4 P100
Seems out tastes dont migrate far as we get older, good taste never dies!
I’ll get some pics of the R5 up when we return in spring, its having bit of a winter overhaul loving the reminiscing path

Yes the Dimma wheels are just such a clever and really lovely design but a pain to keep looking nice!Brilliant! 205 1.6 gti was my very first car (crash test dummy) and the dimma kit worked far better than on the 309 due to the t16 influence i guess, turbo technics had a good rep but janspeed were on my doorstep so used their twin turbo set up on my XR 4x4 P100

The XR4 X4 P100 sounds pretty mad! - I seem to remember the Turbo Technics converted 2.8’s had around 220bhp, how much did the Janspeed conversion give? It goes without saying you should post up a pic!
No our tastes don’t migrate, as you say good taste never dies 😂
Spent some time last week calling round for insurance that would cover road and track use of the GTS. Thought others might find the following useful and save a few phone calls...
Manning - Lotus and TVR only for TDs
A-Plan (Howden) - no track cover offered for new customers
Greenlight - cannot cover car due to value
Adrian Flux- cannot cover car on track due to make
Lockton Performance - tried twice, didn't return calls
Performance Direct - can't combine road and track policies
Reis – Only offer £50k cover on track. 10% excess on track, 6 TDs
Classic Line - YES. 10% excess on track, TDs £56 per event (£224 for EU)
Footman James - YES. £1,000 excess on track, 5 TDs (inc 2xEU)
Both quoted policies were around the same premium with differences across the T&Cs.
Also, I see above mention of a WhatsApp Group, would be interested in joining if anyone is able to DM me for my details? thanks,

That’s really a good value, too much car for the money.

AT indicator states it is >£11k below market.
Wondering how much was the trade in price?

Looking very good, and that plate is quite appropriate
Satin ppf is probably far easier to look after than satin paint too.
Yea the ppf is satin where there’s paint and gloss wheee there is carbon.Satin ppf is probably far easier to look after than satin paint too.
It will hopefully make it easier to maintain and avoid any mistakes with washing that might damage the paint.
Just need it to stop raining now so I can use it more.

My current car is my first ppf’d one. It’s ace. Not to the point of cramming it into a small space at Aldi, but it really does seem to protect against stone chips’n’stuff, and it washes really well. Still need to ceramic coat it. I’d just use it as much as you can, but I can understand the issue with that engine and wet tarmac! It will hopefully make it easier to maintain and avoid any mistakes with washing that might damage the paint.

My last car, an Alfa 4c Spider I had PPF’d from new along with ceramic coatings. It looked brand new 4 years later when I sold it. It’s not cheap but definitely worth it to me.The weather stopping the fun is most definitely down to a lack of traction!
