SLK55 AMG (R172), what to look out for

I may be looking to replace my 2008 Jaguar XKR in the coming months and the R172 SLK55 AMG is amongst a few things that have my attention. Apart from the fact that they seem to be quite rare, anything to watch out for with these? Any common issues etc.?

My 172 '55 was very reliable over three years.
Only thing that does fail on some cars is one or both of the exhaust by-pass valves. Easy fix and about £150 each.
If you hear a ticking sound on idle from the rear its probably the good one trying to sync with the silent faulty unit. Don't replace the wrong one!
You'll pay a bit more but will get two years warranty from a Merc dealer.
Oh and don't risk a fire opal red car - many serious paint problems often requiring a complete respay.
