My Wife and I nipped in to Mercedes to discuss an issues with her current A class's squeaky clutch and walked out with a new A Class.

dealer matched the car wow offer, got 3 years free servicing and free car play / android auto.

Worked out at £299 a month with 2.5k deposit.

Was a red A200 sport automatic in red which we pick up on Friday

Was it a old shape or new shape A class that that had the squeaky pedal ?

If your not familiar with the New models options then the “premium pack” is highly recommended as it gives the car it’s wow factor - the larger screens, ambient lighting, heated seats, auto parking etc etc

Also I’m guessing your PCP’ing the new red one ? If your only keeping for 2/3 years then you’ll find leasing cheaper.

Just food for thought whist your in your 14 day cooling off period.

Seems expensive. Have you thought about leasing instead of PCP?

As an example:

A200 AMG Line Auto
£2140 initial payment
£237 x35
8k miles pa
In stock as well

No we looked at the long term cost overall not just on monthy payments.

We are also doing a personal loan after the first payment which saves £1000 of interest over the 3 year period

Ah ok because the lease deal comes in £2100 cheaper overall. I'm sure they offer the free servicing as well as that is an offer from MB but not limited to PCP, so even if you went and bought one cash you'd be eligible.

Anyways just thought I'd make you aware.

Yes thanks for that.

The small print for the free servicing was that you had to buy a new car before the end of Sept and it had to be on a financial agreement (not specific to PCP)

The squeaky clutch was on a 2017 A-Class. We had it in for a new master cylinder on warranty last week to get it replaced. They gave us a SLC 300 as a courtesy car which was nice to have for a long weekend.

Within 24 hours of picking up the car the clutch started squeaking again hense being at the garage on Saturday...

Hi all,

New to these forums but went to visit my local dealership today, and I’m sold on the A Class 180 Sport!

Has anyone found any standout offers recently that they’ve not posted here already?

I’m looking to lease, and would be hoping for automatic and metallic paint included. With 10k miles for 3 years. Pink Leasing seems to have the best offer currently, for around 240 monthly but I’m not sure if that includes metallic. I’ve enquired but guessing not 😊

Just noticed this new lease offer on Freedom Contracts. Considering 10k mileage and a 3 year contract, it is £2150 upfront with monthly payments of £238.

And free servicing and metallic paint included - seems the best deal out there right now on a new A Class personal lease? If anyone was to put around 3k upfront deposit, brings the monthly costs down to £190 mark. Feels good value with the servicing in addition too.

Just to hijack a bit ... Whats benefits of leasing apart form losing money each money on the rental costs?

Couple of reasons for me. Firstly, I will only be keeping for a couple of years and total cost for the lease over the whole period is coming in at the 10k mark. I think that's a pretty good price. If I bought the car outright and brand new now, I think I'd probably lose more than half that amount over the course of 3 years ownership.

Secondly from a financial point of view, I don't have the luxury of being able to take out a loan for a 28k or 30k purchase. If I did monthly payments on that would be very high for such a large loan amount.

Even the PCP deals with Mercedes come out too expensive per month, seemingly around the 270 mark even with a great deal.

The hire loans therefore give me a much better monthly cost, which is manageable for my finances, and taking into account depreciation, I don't think I'm losing out too much anyway.
