Afternoon all,

Still getting used to the car and spent a little time looking at the roof and how it works and I have noticed a couple of things:

When I open the roof all 4 windows lower which I assume is normal but once roof is down and rear hatch is secure they do not raise again..is this normal?

Roof works well 85% of the time but occasionally when I am opening it the final part of the hatch locking down is not happening, the hatch stays about 2inches high and I can hear the motor running. When closing the roof I never have this issue and so I can only assume that the soft top is not lowering enough into the back?

Cheers

RL

The windows should indeed drop when the sequence starts but they should also go back up when finished. It sounds to me like it’s not fully completing the sequence. Each phase is controlled by a series of micro switches. It’s worth sticking your head in the boot and checking there isn’t an obvious bit of trim or luggage preventing the roof dropping down completely which explains why it doesn’t fully complete the cycle.

Failing that there are lots of specialists around who specialise in these cars and will be able to diagnose it for you. From memory there is a well know soft top diagnosis company somewhere near redhill in Surrey if that is anywhere near you.
