Hey

Purchased the E53 AMG coupe a few months back and never really got time to post but just wondering if anyone else has one and or what are the thoughts on them.

To be honest I was looking at the C63S, but kind of liked the stance of the E coupe, got a nice big .muscle feel to it and I dont think I have seen another one on the road since Ive had it.
If anyone wants to ask any questions about it I'll try and answer, from a performance stand point, noise, interior etc

I do have a question about the trackpace though, mine does not come with it although has every single option pretty much ticked, according to My Merc site, you should be able to purchase and download to the car. Although I haven't got an answer from Mercedes about this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike,
I have one of these on my list of possible next cars, all be it a cab version....and also perhaps the 400D.

How you finding the E53 for day to day stuff? Can you genuinely get 30MPG out of it as others suggest?

cheers,

GTRene

never heard about a E53 coupe, I thought you meant C63 coupe :-) but google-d it and ow...its there.

what is the difference between a E53 coupe and a C63 coupe? the c63 coupe looks even more muscular I think in the pictures.

E53 is 3.0 straight 6 with mild hybrid and 4matic. Current C63 is 4.0 V8 RWD bi-turbo. I think.

So this is more of a luxury cruiser, though others will hark back to the 6.2 in the older C63. I really like these. Interior looks great, and looks purposeful.

I’ve recently traded my E53 Coupe in and can honestly say it returned 34MPG on a motorway run and in great style. Fantastic interior and great road handling with the 4Matic. Great car and would recommend.

I was torn between the 53 and 400D.
In the end is was basically the MPG that swayed me to the 400D
On a half hour hoon test drive the 53 averaged 14, on another test drive driving sedately it was 24.
The 400 will attain double that.
A sedate Sunday run motorway /A roads will see over 50.
Mid / high 40s is normal.

BTW .. I’m 61 😕

MikeM3Power, I'm looking at an E53 Estate as our new family car. I need something with plenty of space, that's fun to drive, and that isn't an SUV (I hate them). I'm not keen on a diesel (which rules out an Audi S6, although an A6 55TFSI is an option) and am slightly underwhelmed by the looks of a BMW 540i. I haven't been able to test drive any of the above yet because of lockdown. Keen to hear what you make of the ride quality in the E53 on UK roads - reports say the suspension has been tweaked in the FY21 facelifted E53 to make it a bit softer at the comfortable end of the spectrum. I think for the money though the E53 looks a steal when you weigh up performance, space, looks etc.

So possibly not "one of these" at all then...the only similarity would be that it is an E class. laugh

Sorry I know this reply took a while but I've only just been reading the thread. smile

I'd like to hear more feedback too as I'm torn between the E53 and the C43

I started looking at the C43 cab as considering the E53 Cab, where are your thoughts?

E-Class is a much better built and practical car; but the C Class will be more fun to drive.
